does anyone have installers or repack versions of nhl 2004 and nhl 2005 that are not split into two cd or .iso files?

If someone is interrested in NHL 06 i can upload it. First NHL Game i ever faced, and me and my Mate spend hundrets of Hours playing this Game. Detroit Red Wings against Pittsburgh Penguins.

thank you.

do you know where i could find nhl 2005? my abandonware and archive.org sites have only cd versions of nhl 2005
nah sadly , and why don't you just install the cd versions , if u have problems with installing it i can try helping you , or
alternatively you can just download the ps2 and gamecube versions and play them on emulators (if your pc can run them ) , unlike 2004 which is heavily modded on pc 2005 is not iirc , so u can just save yourself the trouble and emulate it

because i don't have a cd/dvd rom on my pc and i don't want to use (install) any of those free cd/dvd tools. thanks for offering help in any case ;)

actually, i found one ripped version few days ago on some russian site, but it has preinstalled 2019/2020 mod over it, it's not default nhl 2005.

actually nhl 06 is best among 06 - 09 versions. i don't get it why people mod nhl 09 so much, it is very poor game.

atm i'm having fun with nhl 2002 on pc, excellent game btw.

Isn't because it's the last version with a particular engine? It happens all the time. Like Pes 2014 Ps2 got tons of patches aswell as Fifa 19 on Ps3 (less as it's way easier to mod on PS2/PsP)

The best PS3 mod i played was made by Cubans gamers, based on Fifa 16 BUT on Ps3, and i found that version /without Ignite > i hate that engine / better than the PS4 version sincerely. Same directions, a bit less animations but betters physics for sure with the Impact Engine.

The biggest issue was the spanish latino-cubans langage, impossible for me at least to launch a career or any other mode. I understand more or less but i felt really uneasy when i was anywhere on the menu. Basic spanish i'm okay with it however,

Otherwise back to the thread, NHL2k started to did good game times ago before EA exclusivity licencing giant (or tiny) killing... Well i liked the flow and gameplay way, way better than EA NHL on PS2/i owned the Dreamcast version (2K.2 if i'm right), all was more fluid and reactive. Let's pray for another victim lol, well that's life and money.

no, last with particular engine was nhl 2005. with nhl 06 they were using "new" engine all the way up to last version for pc which was nhl 09, but that engine was worse than previous. but among those games with "new" engine, nhl 06 was the the best imho. not by much, but still better than other 3 games that followed.

NHL Legacy on Xenia (XBox 360 emulator) is pretty nice.
That's 100 % true. I would say that NHL legacy (aka NHL 15) is the best ice hockey game ever created. It's basically same as NHL 14 and it's the end of the engine era. Since that it's downhill with NHL games.

What's kinda shitty that with Xenia you never know when game is gonna crash.

Unfortunately there is zero competition for EA, it's a bit similar as with football but with football we at least have good
old PES games.

I agree. Too bad people/enthusiasts haven't been able to mod it / patch it to have up-to-date rosters, graphics and everything else... Who knows? Maybe one day. 'Till then I usually get the hockey "fix" with modded NHL '94 on a Genesis emulator ; ) Yeah, it's old, but to me the inertia of the ice skating beats a lot (it not all) of the modern games.

Agree with this also... Plus, I used to always get some graphical glitches with this particular game on Xenia. If I were you, I'd try it with RPCS3 (Ps3 emulator). If you got the hardware to handle it, this particular game seems MUCH more stable on it. Never had the same kind of problems I was having with Xenia.

With Xenia, it's shitty that it is crashing, with RPCS3, shitty is my hardware :DD

I had NHL 04 Rebuilt on my old, Windows 10 computer, and it ran great. The problem was, I just didn’t like the game that much, or I refined it too much to the point where it became impossible to score. Has anyone gotten it to run consistently on Windows 11?

Using Xenia or RPCS3, I can get 11-Legacy to run almost perfectly, but I always go back to 11, 14 and Legacy on the PS3 emulator. Those are excellent games; the PS2 era games I just never could get in to. The introduction of the skill stick completely changed the game for me, and it’s hard to go back.

The only issue I have with RPCS3 is that I have tons of 30 second ditties that I used at the time (and again on Rebuilt) that really add to the fun by having music play in between plays. RCPS3 isn’t capable of playing those custom soundtracks, however.

it works on win 11, but the problem is interface and its IE integration. i could not get interface running in full screen mode with nhl 04 rebuilt even with vod's launcher which was a dealbreaker for me.

also, i'm not fan of modern season in any major sports, i wish they continued developing retro seasons instead focusing on current ones.

currently, i'm playing nhl 2002 and 2005 on my win 11 pc, 2002 is really fun game. and both games' interface runs in full screen mode without any issue.

You caught my curiousity with Xenia again.

I was trying RPCS3 version, I have a bit better HW and performance is okayish, I could live with that. But I have 2 issues. It crashes randomly during matches and imput lag sucks. I mean sometimes you need to press twice the controller so you pass too late, you check too late etc. I was trying to fix that with some settings but I was unable to resolve that. As with all emulators you never know if you can't find the right settings or if good enough settings even exists.

So I went back to Xenia. Performance wise it's flawless, input lag is the same as if you would play it on real X360. And it seems that I found settings that is not crashing at all. I just played 2 full games without any issue at all. It looks promising. Even winter classic game went ok (with bit less of FPS).

Check this
https://github.com/xenia-canary/game-compatibility/issues/187

I set it up with lastest Xenia Canary and settings shared there by Sowa95

It works ok. I need try to upscale resolution but as I understand from that github post "readback_resolve" doesn't support resolution scaling. So I need to figure it out. I have 4k monitor so 720p looks kinda shitty.

On the other side, it looks shitty but the game is almost perfect compared to modern NHL games (tbf the bar is very low). Damn I forgot how many possibilites were there. It feels so smooth and likea freaking real hockey. Much more variable than in modern games.

Example 1: Because I defend like an idiot who knows nothing about hockey I was able to send down my own defender. And the game handles that briliantly, it just keep going. In the modern NHL the defender would never come down

Example 2: I completly forgot that after the game you can watch every goal, every shoot, every penalty!! In these new games you see fuck all. My goalie let a goal but it was nice hockey play.

If it keeps running without crashes I think I can play a franchise mod like this. I will try some sliders from OperationSports forum to upgrade gameplay to more realism but even like this it's ten times better than NHL 24, 25, 26.

I would really recommend you guys to give it a try.

btw. @crustcyb you were mentioning new rosters and mods - check this --> https://forums.operationsports.com/...rts-nhl-legacy/ea-sports-nhl-last-gen-rosters

The bugs I had with Xenia were mostly visual, like, color bugs and stuff... Some uniform parts looking bright pinkish, things of that sort. As I said, I believe that with a better rig/hardware, the ps3 emulator is more stable (I never had the color bugs on it), but I'm just heavily speculating it here. As Xenia canary gets frequently updated, those visual bugs are probably sorted out. Since I got the ps3 emulator "stabilized", I never came back to Xenia for a while now... It probably got sorted out ; )

That's a nice play... I mean, I believe that with the right set of sliders it's really possible to make the game look as realistic as possible. All despite the lack of skating inertia, that is : )

It's also really cool that they're able to update the rosters... I was in a discord group some time ago that the main focus was into modding the game, but I believe they hit a stale point, or whatever. I mean, without the ability to add graphics (especially faces and adboards, ice ads, etc.), it just not as fun (my humble opinion, at least).

Thanks for the input bruh!

Just found new Ice Hockey game. Very cool. Just spend like one hour in that. Very hard learning curve, when you check youtube videos how some people control the puck is beyond me.

Looks funny and it's free :)
