FIFA Soccer World Championship released May 25, 2000 for PlayStation 2 is a Japan‑exclusive game from EA Sports built around the 1999–2000 season.

DOWNLOAD ENG
Widescreen patch for PCSX2

The first FIFA game on PS2, predates FIFA 2001 release and was tailored specifically for the Japanese market.

Includes an Under‑23 World Championship mode featuring 16 U‑23 national teams, World Cup, league mode and a training mode.

Motion capture data from prominent Japanese player Hidetoshi Nakata was used to enhance realism.

The game files have debug modes for everyone to see, and one of the INI files is named NAKATA.INI :P

Game is patched COMPLETELY in English - In the same fashion as my FIFA Total Football patches, EA left english files in the game. I rebuilt the ISO and everything works.
I learned a few things and I'll try again with the FIFA Total Football games, maybe I'll be able to translate their DB this time. :)

Game is something in-between FIFA 2000 and FIFA 2001. Not PES-like. Still, an interesting title.

Recycles a few Euro 2000 songs as well.

I remember that FIFA 2001 had something similar too.
There was a file called AIMAIN.INI (or something like that) by modifying which you could alter things like the ball physics for example.
My one and only attempt at creating a modified gameplay myself. 🤣

This being said, thank you for these discoveries man. Much appreciated!
(by the way, if I recall correctly this game has also been mentioned in @Marlon Anthony's "History of FIFA" video).
