No commentators can be heard

Good evening Evoweb Forum,

I have a very strange problem with EA FC 26.
I can't hear any commentators in the game.
It used to work, though.

No matter what I do, it doesn't work anymore. I've tried Spanish, English, German and Italian commentators. Nothing!

I've reinstalled EA FC 26 several times and checked the game files for errors. Nothing.

It doesn't work without mods and it doesn't work with mods either.

I specifically tried my Xbox Series X controller (I had initially used the PS5 Pro controller) because I thought it had something to do with my PS5 controller due to the sound from the gamepad. Nothing!

I can hear the stadium atmosphere, and I can also hear the music in the menus. I've already tried messing around with the audio options, but it just won't work.

I have a Logitech Z906 5.1 sound system with a Realtek 7.1 channel audio ALC1220P onboard sound card.

I really hope someone can help me get this working again!

Whenever I have problems like this, it's because the game is sending commentary to the central speaker of the 5.1/7.1 setup and for some reason, the sound system is only playing the wide channels (or, your central speaker has been disconnected / stopped working).

You can test if this is the problem by messing with your system's speaker output settings in Control Panel > Sound Settings (changing your sound chip's speaker number to stereo and changing the FC settings to stereo, and see if the commentary magically comes back - if it does, your problem is a mismatch between the sound settings and the game's audio output settings).

Hurrah! It worked, somehow at least.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the right settings. Under Control Panel -> Sound settings, I couldn't find any settings where I could switch to stereo.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any settings options to change anything from 5.1/7.1 to stereo.
At least not with these words/terms.

I then tried playing around with the settings there and also increased the volume on the centre speaker and subwoofer. And lo and behold, it worked, I can hear the commentators again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much Chris for your help and the flash of inspiration you gave me! Thank you!

And now comes another ‘but’.

But when I wanted to change the commentators to German or Italian, it worked in Steam, but the option to change the commentator language was greyed out.
So I couldn't set any other language.
Only the English language, which I had last changed yesterday, was there.
Checking the game files for errors didn't help either.

I would be very surprised if this game didn't cause stomach aches and frayed nerves.

Now I hope that one of you has an idea or a solution for me! So that I can change the commentators' language again as I wish.
I would be very grateful for any help!

I solved my problem which I posted on tuesday one post above.

Change language in steam (or EA App maybe)
Launching EA FC26 without mods and change the language ingame and then close the game
Delete fc26-modding.cache file
And then launch the game with the mod manager and with the option Launch and Delete FIFAModData

This was the solution that fix my problem.

do you have click the "Effect" button on your manual?
I have the same sound system and when i put the effect mode and the 5.1 Light shows up, all voices are gone in most games or they are really low noise

I did it with the remote control.
Try pressing the ‘Level’ button.
You can use it to turn individual areas up or down. You can then see on the panel, or whatever that thing is called (on the right-hand side), which areas you have selected.
For example, all speakers, both rear speakers, centre speaker or subwoofer.

Some may be set too low.
