About This Game:

* Framed for the death of his master and left with a ruined heart, Soul has sixty-six days to live. Alone and hunted by his former comrades, he moves through a world of shifting loyalties and silent blades — determined to unravel the conspiracy that has condemned him.
Rain mixes with blood, mercy entangles with vengeance. Soul's journey is one of love, hate, and the fragile search for what it means to have a heart.

* Explore a world beyond imagination. Shifting realities, echoes of memories long since passed, augmentation, and beings of higher power await in Phantom Blade Zero.
A rumor, a story, a whisper — every thread a trail to unraveling a larger mystery. Navigate through a web of intrigue and lies to uncover the truth.

* A fighter’s worth lies in their weapons.
Over thirty weapons are yours to wield, with more than twenty unique "Phantom Edges" to mix and match to suit your playstyle.
Defeat powerful foes to obtain their weapons, and with it, their signature techniques. Grow your arsenal and defeat all who stand in your path.

* Inspired by the Golden Age of Hong Kong action films, the world of Phantom Blade Zero blends fierce martial arts with machinery, amplifying an exhilarating clash of steel on steel.
Ancient codes meet iron and smoke; tradition thrums to a modern beat. A new style is forged in this melding of mediums. This is Kungfupunk.

* Built in Unreal Engine 5 and through the use of state-of-the-art motion capture, Phantom Blade Zero brings together legendary fight choreography from Hong Kong’s Golden Age of martial arts cinema.
Every strike and stance draws from authentic martial arts techniques, captured with the precision of film, is reborn through modern game design.
This is Chinese kungfu reimagined for a new generation.

Will keep an eye on this.
Looks very ambitious for a new studio though, good luck to them.
Some scenes are reminding me of 3 different games..
'Dark Souls' combat (YES plz) mixed up with some 'God of War' chain attacks & QTE,
& enviromental attacks like rolling the big boulder onto enemies in 'Breath of the Wild' .. could be interesting.

P.S Thanks for reminding me that I still have Ghost of Tsushima just sitting there in my backlog of "PLAY THIS NOW"!
I gotta get moving

Agree. As things stands for me, this is my most anticipated game of this year. I certainly want to play this way more that GTA VI and more than anything else in 2026. And as you've pointed, there is that precise combination between slow and methodical pacing combat from souls games involving a dark story with environments and bosses combined with some fast modern God of War action and some QTEs for critical damage. From the trailer alone, I love how this game is designed with that atmosphere and how characters are looking. In some way characters reminds me of one mature anime series from the past called Ninja Scroll:

The art style and its direction feels so similar that at first before watching the trailer I was thinking that Jūbei Kibagami and the Light Maiden are so back! Then in the description was PBØ chinese kungfu-punk (...of course I'll roleplay as Jūbei!) "Wherever you go, the people are people, the sky is sky. Nothing changes..."

(EDIT: Wasn't aware that after so many years all episodes are public on YouTube actually)

Regarding Ghost of Tsushima I also purchased it on Steam and still on my pending games to play. I'm sure I'll play it before Phantom Blade Zero releases to make the wait 'till september even shorter. Another game that I love and finished is "Sekiro: Shadows die Twice" made by FromSoftware, so I'll recommend it if you enjoy a lot authentic souls genre, or "Black Myth Wukong" that is also inspired from chinese lore with some souls elements combined with fast action combat...

Indeed, Sekiro & Black Myth are also in my backlog.
I was a big fan of the Monkey Magic show, so I haven't even watched ANY footage of Black Myth Wukong, since it's release.
We be patient out here  .. (& poor, I'm waiting for another sale lol)

I remember in one of the episodes he got absolutely destroyed & lost a big fight to a giant rabbit or something
& it was the first time, that damned TV box made me cry

Also, thanks for letting me know of Ninja Scroll too! I've been meaning to see those old animes (Berzerk, One Punch Man)
This one I never heard of ( in Australia we only got DBZ/Pokemon & the later gen got Yu-gi-Oh! lol)
but it looks good, I will definately be adding to binge list & check it out.
