PS5 Co-op Game Recommendations

Hi All,

My 7 year son is just starting to get a bit more interested in gaming.

He has a handheld Switch but it’s becoming a bit basic for him.

I just wondered if anyone has any recommendations for good PS5 Co-op games that you can play from one console please? Something relatively simple and fun that we could play together.

I’m kind of out of the loop these days in terms of what is out there outside of sports games!

Sorry if any not age appropriate just trying to list whatever comes my mind, but all are on couch co-op:

- Brothers Tales of Two Sons
- It Takes Two
- Split Fiction
- Overcooked series
- Little Big Planet series
- Trine series
- Slaps & Beans
- Secret of Mana

By the way this is the best time to start play coop career mode on Fifa with him? If he is interested in football.
Also i might just get a PS2 for cheap and play PS1 and PS2 coop games with him. Probably the best era of on couch co-op games, he would have a blast and you get some nostalgia out of it too.

It Takes Two is an amazing coop experience, sometimes it might get a little too dark for a 7 year old though.

I think most LEGO games would be a good fit, they're aimed at kids and all of them support couch coop. I recommend the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. He doesn't have to be a Star Wars fan to play it, it requires no prior knowledge of the series.

A Co-op career mode has entered my mind too! He’s starting to like football more as he understands the rules a bit better etc. so I might give that a go 👍🏻

I think Kunio-kun no Nekketsu Soccer League is on the PS store as well if you want something light hearted without all the footy rules i loved this as a kid. It should have coop. It is an ancient game tho, if he doesnt mind the graphics.
