Hi,

I recently bought an Anbernic RG557 and while reading about its features, I saw it has an AI feature that aims at translating tests on the fly (displayed as overlay) while playing. It concerns menu entries, dialogs, ...

I also see RetroArch has this feature.

Have any of you already tried it ?
In my opinion it can be awesome for those emulating vanilla PS2 JL games !

The translation within the game is always the best solution.. Most of the J.League and WE for PS2 are now on this forum with translated versions inside...

Emulation already uses extra resources to emulate another platform such as the PS2, and if you then add AI overlay with mediocre hardware, I don't think you'll get the best results for your PS2 emulated games

I respectfully disagree on the fact patched / translated isos are always the best solution.

I do prefer playing vanilla over patched version and you'll almost never find a translation patch only. Sometimes it'll come with extra features or undesired changes.

So even if it's niche, I'm sure some players would appreciate to have that solution.

Also, the feature can be enabled / disabled via hotkey. So during gameplay, you can disable it for performance purpose and only enable it in menus, ...

I agree with this! Digging around RetroArch to find out how to enable it... no luck so far

Two things can be true

AI Translation can be doggy, it's a nice features but if there's a translation patch from community then i'll take it instead AI.

But it's a nice feature maybe i can play this goofy monopoly naruto game again :D
