• Hotmail/Outlook (any Microsoft email services) folks. Microsoft is currently blocking our emails. We have raised a support ticket with them and will update when we can.

    In the meantime it's possible that adding robot@evoweb.uk to your address book/contacts will help and if you're able to switch to a different email provider, that would work fine.

    We have also increased the number of bounce emails we can handle before accounts are marked as requiring verification again to hopefully mitigate the issue a bit as well.

On other news, I'm really happy that Mertesacker and Rosicky are renewing their contracts, and it seems Cazorla and Ramsey are getting improved contracts too.
Nice to see Arsenal holding onto some important guys.

Now we need to somehow convince Sagna to stay, because his contract talks are stalling.

If he and Vermaelen leave, we will have to get the cheque book out big time after the world cup for defensinve reinforcements.
 
Lets not forget the biggest contract the club has yet to extend. It's more than probable it will be extended, but what if it won't. I'm not really confident the club have a plan or will be able to get a proper replacement. It has a proven record of bollocking these affairs. And on the other hand I would fancy a change IF (huuuge if) we would find a world class replacement... cough... Klopp.

Isn't anyone else worried about Wenger not extending? What if we don't win anything, or what if indeed we win something, anything and he says right then cheerio. Given the difficult, short summer it wouldn't be like him... but I'm going in circles.

I read elsewhere that Koscielny caught an injury too. I hope it's not too serious, otherwise we're fucked.

We need Ramsey back ASAP. With him, Arteta, Flamini, Ozil, Santi and with Kallstrom finally ready to play, we should have enough midfielders to take us through the rest of the season.

Those players were doing fine for us, no physical problems of late... but when they go to them goddamned international friendlies something like this always happens. I wonder, what do they do in those international training camps? Play football with rocks??

For years now, Arsenal fans are critiicising Wenger because he doesn't boy enough good players.
Good players usuallycplay for their country. So once they play for Arsenal, they can't play for their national teams ?
If you are consequent you don't want Arsenal to buy players who played a good WC, because these players are internationals and might get injured.

And players like Ramsey and Eduardo didn't get injured in international matches but with Arsenal....

Be glad that your team has internationals. It means they are quality players.

It's not that poor, Gerd. Consider that Arsenal plays almost every week and international friendlies (or qualifiers) only happen once in a while. Yet if we observe the ratio of injuries by each case, I have a clear impression that the number of injuries in international duty is alarmingly high.

To add insult to injury (pun intended :D), those latest matches were friendlies.
I have bad memories of Van Persie coming back crocked from duty with Holland and spending 4 months out (has happened a few times) and that especially irritating story of Didier Deschamps calling on Abou Diaby for France, when he had only been fit for a few weeks after the usual Diabyesque period of 10-12 months. At that time, Wenger had warned FFF he was not ready, but they used him anyway and guess what... another setback in Diaby's recovery.

Furthermore, physios at the National Teams are not always are up to speed with fitness issues of players. To be fair, it's a lot of data to consider.

Of course it's a good thing that the players at your club are good, which means they are called to represent their country. But at the end of the day, most football fans feel aggrieved when their players come back injured, also in the knowledge that it is the club that pays their wages, not the federations.

I think accidents happen, it's fine, but I what also plays a big part in this is the big pressure some players are under to show the National Team managers that they deserve a spot in the first XI. You see, Jack Wilshere played through pain for 60 minutes against Denmark. The player wants to play and earn the manager's trust, but at the end of the day it is still a bloody friendly and he could have aggravated his injury.

Would be a good option, as a winger though. He's been brilliant there in the absence of Walcott. I don't know why he was left on the bench for most of the game against Stoke.
Maybe him and Podolski as wingers for more attacking power?
 
Guys, I think we should all follow Ray Parlour's advice and do our best in the FA Cup. Semi-finals are against either Sheffield United or Charlton :D
 
A good performance nothing special just efficient finishing. Ox has energy but lacks vision and passing on the day. Sanogo is learning the EPL trade.Giroud played less(-)30minutes and almost had a hat-trick :P . I love seeing Cazorla-Rosicky-Ozil do their bidding.
 
Yeah 4-1 makes it look a lot easier than it really was.
The truth is that we miss Walcott and Ramsey badly. And the recent injuries to Wilshere (season finished for him) and Koscielny made us weaker too.

Vermaelen had some shocking moments, like when he kicked air! :LOL:
Also, he's much more of a maverick compared to Kos.

Today Ozil was a different player, totally committed to the cause. One goal and one assist, not bad. The rest seems to have been good to him.

Cazorla was outstanding IMO, our most purposeful player, leading all dangerous counters. The Ox was quite good too, had a couple of mistakes but righted all his wrongs almost immediately.
Rosicky and Giroud were great subs. Giroud took his chances very well and showed a glimpse of the decisive goal scorer we wish him to be - not just the pivot for one-twos, but a more direct threat. I liked how he moved on the pitch.

Overall a good performance, and good to see that our attack responded well when needed.
More of the same please!
 
Sheffield United beat Charlton, Hull did so against Sunderland and right now City is losing home to Wigan. Could it be better?
However, all this situation takes me back to 2011, when we faced Birmingham in the League Cup final and lost because of two foolish mistakes from Fabianski and Koscielny. We must remain cautious.
