• Hotmail/Outlook (any Microsoft email services) folks. Microsoft is currently blocking our emails. We have raised a support ticket with them and will update when we can.

    In the meantime it's possible that adding robot@evoweb.uk to your address book/contacts will help and if you're able to switch to a different email provider, that would work fine.

    We have also increased the number of bounce emails we can handle before accounts are marked as requiring verification again to hopefully mitigate the issue a bit as well.

What do people think about tomorrows game?

We have Juve on Tuesday, so an understrength team may be put out tomorrow.

We will be away from home and Portsmouth are fighting for their lives. If we field a weakened team we may be punished...we can't afford to lose any more points at all!!

Lets hope our form carries on, as I feel there are definately no easy games at the end of this season.

Lets hope Middlesborough, Sunderland and West Brom beat their opposition this weekend. Come on you can do it!
 
Absolute stone cold must win game tomorrow. Portsmouth won't be a push over, especially at home. However, if the boys keep their heads, play their own game and turn in a professional performance we can run out comfortable winners.

No way a weakened team will do for me. The big question is whether AW will play Campbell or not. If he doesn't then there's no way he should face Juve. Frankly, even with the Portsmouth game under his belt he might be a bit short. Plus, with Kolo and Big Phil playing so well, who would he replace? Tough one...
 
I agree I think its seems too soon for Sol to come back into such an imortant game...but his experience will be invaluable, so not sure.

Lets see if he plays against Portsmouth and how well he plays - but he has to get back into a partnership with Toure (most likely) and that will take time.

We need to come 4th in the league and that is that, if we don't our chances of keeping Thierry are slim to none.

Sol Campbell and Jose Antonio Reyes will NOT now be returning to the Arsenal squad for the trip to Portsmouth on Saturday. In addition, Freddie Ljungberg has suffered a set-back and is not risked at Fratton Park.

Speaking exclusively to Arsenal TV Online on Thursday, Arsène Wenger had suggested the Spanish striker (hamstring) and England centre back (ankle) could be involved in the Saturday evening game. At this press conference 24 hours, it turned out that neither would make it.

“Reyes is out,” said the manager. “So is Ljungberg, Cole, Cygan, Clichy, Lauren and Campbell.

“Sol is not injured but he is not in the squad. He’s 90 per cent there physically, and mentally 100 per cent.

“We have had big games recently. I feel at the moment he is ready to come back at any moment but the defence is doing well. He will get the opportunity soon.

“His attitude is spot on. I tell you frankly, he is more focused, motivated and sharp. He will come back quickly and get an opportunity quickly.

“He will work on Saturday. But, for me, he’s nearly there.”

While Campbell is voluntarily omitted, the opposite is true of Ljungberg (calf).

“He is not available,” said the manager . “He had a set-back in the middle of the week. He has a chance to be in the squad for Tuesday [against Juventus].

"He is training today, so it depends on his response.”

So cuz he tells the truth and says what he feels like at his new club, he deserves less than a ''good reception''? Vieira is most probably right. ''at arsenal they dont fight for every ball'', i think thats a fair comment. I think what arsenal have been lacking over the years, is that hunger and determination to fight for eachother in macthes and go for every ball.

Did you read what I typed? Did you even read what you typed?

You said, and i quote, "what arsenal have been lacking over the years, is that hunger and determination". I was asking if those years included the one when we didn't lose a single league game all season.

I've been reading recently that some Juve supporters have been criticising Vieria's performances, particularly after Sunday's draw with Roma. Do you think they are justified and would you say honestly that he is as good as you hoped?
 
Vieira has been dissapointing for us really. His start of the season was very promising, when he really drove the midfield forward and even scored his share of goals. Shortly after though he suffered a slight injury, after returning from that respective injury his performances have been quite tame.
He's often caught in possesion, due to ball-hogging and slow decision making. In the big games he's often choked, nervously making bad passes.

That all being said though, his role is still important as he certainly adds a lot of presence in the already stable defensive midfield with Emerson ( who HAS been in form this season).
His physique helps him to conquer the ball easily, in attack he can draw defenders to him and he knows how to find Trezeguet with the ball, his height is also important at set-pieces as our defence sometimes suffers from crosses during set-pieces(Thuram's timing is awful).

I sadly have the feeling he'll choke against his former teammates.
 
It will be intresting to see Vieira again, the midfield will be a key battle for this one and I think its a close one at that. Gilberto and Fabregas on there day are no push overs but when you look at Emerson and Vieira you could easily call that one of the midfield partnerships in the world

i Hope...Senderos performs,he really scares me at times.Especially his back pass header to the goal keeper.Let`s see what Faber does,who knows student can perform better than teacher.

No need to elaborate, i get your point. There was no hunger in that season, no drive and no desire to win. I can't believe it took me that long to realise.:roll:
 
Indeedy clockender, the Champions League night butterflies are back.

I'm hoping he will throw RVP in tonight to replace Freddie and give him licence to roam in between Henry and the midfield. I think we will probably line up
