I open this thread to public donniedarko's work, FIFA 17 attribdb.bin and .vlt files.

https://mega.nz/file/O8RxWKoK#-Q_UiwACwCJqObao7uMPSbrAKqwX08M3nV1Ig-akv9g

This tool is composed of a index.html file, that essentially opens an editor online. This editor needs the .csv file since it's let's say, the SDK or the structure of FIFA 17 .bin and .vlt files, that the editor needs to know how to display each value in the editor, how to save it, etc.

This tool provides a way of editing FIFA 17 files at least until Paul-v tool, with whom donnie has been collaborating to develop FIFA 17 SDK for FMT, has the SDK out.

I hope this is of some use for the community, and that you all thank donnie's for his work in the comments, and give feedback on this tool to know what works and what not and must be fixed. I would test it myself but due to certain events I'll be probably taking a way off from FIFA modding for some days (yet I'll still be looking this thread around and transfering your feedback to donnie) until dust settles. Also, donnie told me that if he finds enough strength, he might be doing the same for FIFA 16 and maybe 15. Haven't spoken him about 14, 18 or 19, but eventually, those might happen aswell.

Cheers and have fun modding FIFA 17! Shall this be the dawn of a new age of modding for FIFA 17!!

Thank you for sharing. Give my best to Donnie - he has done so much work for this community and I do hope he feels appreciated.

I tried running the tool and I don’t know where the csv, bin and vlt files in the FIFA 17 directory are located. I poked around and tried a windows search but came up empty handed. Did he share this part of the instructions?

the vlt and bin you have to extract with FMT. The csv is in the archive, is like a descriptor of the contents. The man did a nice research job on his own.

Thank you. I was able to load the tool. It seems there are two folders. attribdb and attribdbgameplay which both have the attribdb bin and vlt. Does it matter which I export/import?

I exported the attribdb one and looked at the values in the tool. Some of the raw numbers seem odd. Soccer ball radius is negative 0.08 or something like that.

I loaded the tool also up. I extracted the 2 files from the attribdb, Insane work, Donnie!

I will explain you how to use the tool.

The files you're about to modify can and must be exported/extracted with the FrostyEditor or any similar tool, then imported back again and exported as a mod. The location is Legacy explorer, data folder, and attribdbgameplay.

Then you right click in both files and export them.

Then open the index.html contained inside the .zip file I uploaded, and the editor file will pop up. Import the .csv contained in the same .zip, and the two files you just exported, in the asked order, and finally change the wanted values, import the values again (just down export when double clicking in the file) and export as mod (up in the main menu, File, Export as a mod), and voilá, you should have a mod ready to use with your several changes made to both files.

guys im sorry but all assets are not included. especially all nets assets are not included yet. some codes in soccerball schema are missing.

Just increasing the size of the ball in this game is a real gamechanger. If only someone could create gameplay that makes the game more difficult overall and, above all, makes the CPU score more goals, it would probably be the best football game ever. Better than FIFA 16 due to its better set-piece system, better ball spin, better net physics, powerful ground shots, and better graphics.

Animations, though... Frostbite animations feel way too weightless, and not stiff enough. Dunno, FIFA 16 is still for me the king. But yeah, FIFA 17 has some good potential.

Donnie is really number one. Remember when he also discovered how to lengthen the limit of career years on Fifas from 17 onwards (and how he patiently supported me and answered my questions). And now this other gem.

Truly hope he'll find some joy in the fact his work is really appreciated by many.

i changed ball radius but it affected only ball phsyics behaviours weirdly. because some codes are missing.

I also tried this and saw very odd behavior. I tried a 1m radius and the ball was still the same size but was floating above the ground. It was also overdamped like in your video. I suspect there is still a lot of trial and error that needs to occur to identify and rename these values.

Guys, use this mod.

https://mega.nz/file/7sRGCQwD#NUQCDFIwcIqhSi-V6HWzmXvOE-zEUfaFv-Xr9sdMbhE

It icreases the meshes (textures) of the ball. You have options to increase it from 5% to 13%. Just make sure you use the option that matches your increase in the soccerball radius. So if you increase, for example, a 10% the soccerball radius, use the 10% mesh increase. If you notice something weird like ball clipping in the ground, then try using half the mesh increase (since I am not sure if it is increased on the radius, or on the diameter), yet try first with the matching option before half.

Ah, and obviously, once again, credit goes to donniedarko666. He's the man.

If you use this, you should be able to scale all the balls in the game in few steps. It's way better than using the mods I previously pasted since they work only with a ball, forgot that.

This tool should allow to mod all the chunks of every ball in the game in few steps.

I use this mod from a couple of days . Everythings works fine . I use 16% . This is exactly the mod I had in mind when writing earlier that it's a gamechanger:) Now a 5 substitution mod would be useful:)

I think that might be a bit more difficult because might be hardcoded in the game. Or at least the ammount of players you have in the bench. But is a noted one.

One thing i noticed is that pre-season friendly tournaments you can put all your subs on

So clearly its possible in the game but its attached to competition rules

I know this thread is about the tool but this seems like one of the few places to talk about FIFA 17 editing.

I was messing around with some ball physics. Other than “weird,” how would you describe what should be changed with the physics? I was experimenting with increasing the mass and inertia. In addition to a more solid feeling ball, another goal of mine was to get more movement on the ball for more unpredictable shots. Like slight dips and swerves. The straight line shots on a rope, like FIFA 16 really bother me. While FC 26 has many flaws, the shooting is very fun (if maybe a bit too exaggerated). Of the many physics parameters, I’m not sure which (if any) would give me the ball movement I’m looking for, but it’s worth experimenting with (for now).

Guys, tools for modding gameplay in FIFA 17 appeared a while ago. Is anyone currently working on a mod? Is there any work in progress towards modding the gameplay? I was hoping that after the modding option was released, we'd get some modifications quite quickly, but for now, it seems the topic has stalled. I also see that there's very little interest in this topic on the forum...

I tried it, but FIFA 17 gives not so good results as FIFA 16, due to how the game works. Might give it a look again, though.
