does anyone find that fifa 19 is the best all rounder football game for a realistic career mode, i feel it has the best graphics/variety/animation/gameplay of most fifas,
I often think about this. I think it's the last "playable" (for want of a less exaggerated word) FIFA.
The gameplay isn't quite as free and "error prone" as older games, the AI not quite as varied, the ball physics a bit marble-on-glass, and the 1v1 silly defending kicks in occasionally,
but it still has magic moments - and it has the Champions League license for the first time since their UEFA 2006-2007 game.
As you say, as a package, I think it might be the best all-rounder. In-fact, I had one of my best football gaming memories on FIFA 19:
FIFA 20 was, in my opinion, a huge downgrade and the beginning of the focus being entirely on what EA describe as "Competitive Players" (but seemingly, kids). Faster speed, ultra-responsive physics where players break limbs reguarly - an AI that is totally confused a lot of the time - 1v1 silly defending, huge gaps all over the pitch etc... and every year since they've doubled-down on it all, before perfecting the formula in the first FC game and sticking to it since.
Eurogamer described each yearly FIFA release alternating between "fast, slow, fast, slow" for quite a long time, and I have to imagine that was to try and satisfy a different audience each time; FIFA 20 (a "fast" one) launched, and from then on, it stayed fast / silly.
