NBA 2K General Thread

100% my case! We are completely in agreement here! :)
Grew up watching MJ, and D-Rose's Bulls were the last time I truly loved a basketball team! 🐂 🏀
I'm mainly a 2k14 player (with UBR patch), but will pick up 2k11 again for sure!

You have me intrigued, bro! I've never played a long MyCareer but 2k10 sounds like a great title to check out for this! :TU:
The very first my career, and upgrading your player isn't as tedious as modern 2k, plus you'd get sent to the G league if not playing well.
Pretty fun game tbh

And I have side careers as well, doing a Myleague on 2k16 with Euro League teams (56 game seasons)
Oh I remember the European teams back in the day. Which team are you using?

I used to pick Unicaja Malaga at first, but it was before seeing Pozzecco on Sassari's bench in 2019.
I've been supporting Sassari ever since, even after Pozzecco eventually left, and of course when I picked up 2K16 again after some years I couldn't choose a different team (also considering that 2K16 is, as far as I know, the only game featuring them).
The fact that also a close friend of mine also supported Sassari of course played a role in the choice, not gonna lie here. We had a blast during those 2019 playoffs (even if Sassari unfortunately ended up losing throwing away game 7 of the finals against Venezia).

And because of that, my favorite club is the Chicago Bulls
I'm also a Bulls supporter thanks to MJ (and thanks to Space Jam of course). I wish I had never seen that movie. 🤬🤬🤬

I did a draft after the first season and decided

Approximately 10 games till the playoffs with the Knicks! I am currently seeded second, behind MJ's Bulls, (1994-95 season), with the Pacers closing in in third place! The Rockets and the Sonics seem like the strongest contenders out West! I will update this once the playoff seedings are complete. :)

Finally made the Playoffs with the New York Knicks, 1994-95 season! (With NBA 2k14 UBR Mod!) :BSCARF:
Finished the season 65-17, seeded second in the Eastern Conference, behind the 71-11 Bulls!
My star Patrick Ewing made the All-Star team, and the NBA 3rd Team.
Anthony Mason finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting.
Hakeem Olajuwon won Most Valuable Player of the season, and led the Rockets in the West to a No. 1 seed!
Facing the First Round of the Playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks! 🐦
I think the Jordan led Bulls are absolute favorites, followed by Houston, but I'm liking our chances!
Let's get ready, Madison Square Garden! Long live 90's Basketball! :BSCARF:🏀

P.S: Congrats @rockstrongo bro! :TU:

Thanks buddy
And Congrats to you as well.
Yeah 90s and up to 2010 ish was amazing.

Can anyone tell me anything about NBA 2K26?
Is it good/is it better or worse than NBA 2K25 or older versions?

I'm considering buying it.

The German Steam reviews are completely useless and pointless.

the game has gone more and more tws online grinds or microtransactions, still fixable with sliders but cpu gets watered dpwn every year.
id buy 2K16/17/19/20 instead if playing offline

@rockstrongo & @Jay-Jay 10
Thank you for your reviews.

If anyone else has the game, feel free to write something about it.
I'd appreciate it.

I think my last NBA 2K was the 24th edition.
So I'm more used to playing the more modern editions.

I'm anything but a basketball pro, but I really like the presentations.

i only play offline

game is a lot faster than last year, there is one big problem right now that the CPU often wont take easy layups, always passes out for a 3 point attempt, hopefully that gets patched soon

if you havent played last years game i think you will like it, especially the pro play animations, i dont think they were in 24, they really look amazing

Thank you kovy for your review. I'll probably wait for a sale.

In my opinion, the gameplay in NBA 2K26 is already an improvement. It has certainly become a bit more arcade-like, but that makes it more fun.

I feel that the CPU plays the same plays too often and seems to only take threes, but you can certainly fix that with sliders.

The defense still feels a bit strange so far.
Otherwise, there is also a graphical improvement.

Hey guys. What’s „the best“ NBA2k title from the last few years?!
I’m willing to spent less then 10 bucks on a title. I’m just having a craving for a couple of matches… nothing serious.
Single player with good gameplay, maybe the options to enhance gfx and update the rosters to the current one; thats what I’m looking for.
Any recommendations?!

Go for 25. Its more realisitc than 26, you get the current rosters (even fiba through pc cross sharing which is gone in 26) and it should be very cheap. Other than that 23 is a lot of fun as well but servers are down now.

Hi all, what’s the best resource for finding the latest rosters for the classic games (2k11, 2k14 or 2k17)?

Also, whenever I play these games I am looking for the open man but can’t seem to get him the ball. Or it gets to him in too late and he’s no longer open. It may be a skill issue but I’d love to be able to play the equivalent of a “through ball” for a player cutting to the basket. How can you do that in these games?

first of all look for a set of sliders that suits you, theyll open up the game a lot.
for 2K17 and for 2k14 i use shady mikes sliders, check youtube, he has a channel dedicated to that.
Or schnaidts sliders on Operation sports, also very solid.
Rosters is tougher, you could fin them at the download section at https://www.nba-live.com/
But thats if youre on pc, otherwise, try to edit rosters yourself, create draftclasses for future players etc if you play MyLeague.
Good choices of games btw, even if i have 2k16 up there as well

During a brief 2K stint, I was able to find full blow “patches” that included stadiums, jerseys, cyberfaces and even callnames. It was a disparate collection that I first found on a YouTube and later found someone who had zipped it up into one file on Reddit.

It seems like these are much harder to find and there isn’t a common place of collection like EvoWeb where these are shared. Seems like there’s a pretty active Filipino 2K facebook community?

check nlsc page, tons of mods etc there

Picked up my My career on 2k15, a very underrated game.
Being a 67 over is tough but averaging 10p 3a is pretty solid on 45/40/70 shooting

I can't live with those terrible shot meters from 2k25... They're absolutely terrible, although I admit that it makes shot making more realistic. 2k26 has the best shot meters in the franchise, BUT it makes shot making a little bit too easy...

Plus, modding in general for 2k26 has reached the point of complete and utter absurd in the sense that you simply can't get a SINGLE mod without paying... That's the consequence of all the microtransaction and monetizing in the game. It literally became a disease. It's just unbearable... Also, 2k26 has a nasty bug that if you pause the game, after unpausing it, everything outside the 4 lines of the court will get blurred, in a mix of "static (as opposed to "motion") blur" and depth of field, that even with both turned off in the graphic options, the bug persists. I submitted a ticket (captured 2 videos and forwarded them) to 2k support reporting the bug, and they acknowledged it. But I doubt they'll do anything about it. After all, they only care about the multiplayer, that's where the money is.

So yeah, I guess between all of that, I'd rather play 2k25 (even with the shot meter shortcomings I mentioned). Sure, there are paid mods, but they roughly make 15-20% of all game mods (you can find free "alternates" for most of the face mods, for example). In 2k26, it's the total opposite: 80-85% of the mods are paid versions... As you said 2k23 was the most fun I had in this past generation...

Just installed 2k9
Thats a banger for sure, kinda tricky with the control scheme, but everything is quite easy to setup, im more used to the control setup fro, 2k16 and fw
But a great game. still mindblowing that presentation and atmoshere is better than modern games
