I hope for Umbro but if Chelsea decided to pay out Adidas to end the agreement early (and you can imagine how many millions in euro this move costed to the club) that means the new sportswear brand has the power to pay more than Adidas (fine included)...few brands can afford this...

There was no fine, they just payed compensation (basically returned the money back) and cancelled the contract. Nothing more.

And yeah, there are talks about a new (or at least relative new to football) sports brand coming with a huge offer atm. Underarmour is getting a mention which would be great too.

Contracts doesn't work that way.

All sport brands put clauses obligating teams to pay a huge fine if they broke the contract unilaterally.

I don't think you understand how contracts work. It was a mutual termination: there was no breach and thus no fine.

Even mutual terminations can result in fines when respective clauses were included. And in this case Chelsea paid a "mid-double digit million" amount to Adidas for terminating the contract earlier according to Footyheadlines.

St Etienne didn't change at all from the previous kits,just added the polo collar... Yeah their adidas kits were much better.

The Le Coq Sportif kits are much better in my opinion. Really fits in much better with the club identity and the adidas kits were generic as well. As for the new kits, they look great again. The cuffs are different too. Normally I'd say brands are lazy for not changing the kit, but if it's not broken, why fix it?
