PC Gaming

I've changed my mind a bit. Instead of a complete sim racing rig, I've ‘only’ bought this.
https://nextlevelracing.com/products/racing-wheel-stand-2-0/

Because my flat is just too small, or rather, I don't have enough space.

Hopefully, I'll manage to set it up sometime in the next few days and dive into LMU, for example. :BRMM:

Thank you😀 Besides being more expensive it is also a lot more complicated to purchase one since I also only plan to play PES on it.
I think it was @Isslander who talked about playing on a Steam Deck... Maybe he can provide some tips on that, like which version of the Deck to get, how much it cost him, if it can be storage enhanced with a flash card for mods (if needed), if a docking station is needed to connect to a TV and such?
Sounds like Steam machine was made for ya? ;)

Nowdays it's gonna take arm, leg & kidney just buy a RAM. These prices are insane, even the old generic ddr3 for laptop got increase more than 100% 😂

Went out to buy Zotac Solid Core 5070 Ti but it had to go out of stock in my country, right before I went. It was around 114500 tk, now the only other alternatives are msi ventous [127,00 tk] or asus prime oc [136,00tk] which are already too expensive since msrp is 91000 tk.

On top of that, 32 GB ram 38,000 tk whereas it was possible to get it for 12,000 tk just 2 months back.

After seeing these bs, I just gave up and went back home 💀 Will find some other hobby for now.

RDR2???? Surely not!

Detroit Become Human is one I wanted to play but wasn't sure if I wanted it enough to buy so will be good if true.

Played Detroit during Covid, I don't remember it too much now but at the time I think in the forum for the game.
I wrote it was one of the best games I ever played.

That list turned out to be fake, as expected.

Decided to bit the bullet and just get a gpu. Still using my old cpu/ram/hdd so new games are heavily bottlenecked.

I meant Detroit Become Human
Just got their bundle (so I could also play Heavy Rain, which I already own on PS3, on PC).
Also a friend of mine highly praised Fahrenheit (which is also included in the bundle) so this is the chance for me to give it a try.

Fahrenheit is a 10/10 game for the first half or so, then it starts to get a little worse, and the ending is just a massive clusterfuck. If you start the game and you find yourself loving it a lot, don't hold particularly high expectations for the rest of the game.

I had no idea what you meant and thought it was some wordplay that went right over my head, until I just now saw the Steam Machine-thread:APPLAUD:
And you're absolutely right, it does indeed sound like exactly what I'm looking for (btw cheers to @Chris Davies in that same thread for putting into words the complexity of even thinking about getting a pc and the posible trouble it might cause you)!

I will keep my eye out and hope we see a price and release date soon!

Since mid December I own a XFX 9070 XT and it was about time!
I started my SIM racing “career” on my triple setup with a 6800 XT five years ago….
To make it short: it’s peace of mind now. 😊
I finally can run my 11mio pixel view at locked 120fps with lots of bling.
I tried 140 and 165 (as some sims allow this too) but I’m very good with racing in 120hz stable.

One thing I noticed, and I’m very sure did not get better at racing in 4 weeks, my lap times have improved and I put that down to a stable (no hickups) and smooth presentation.

I also got myself a new case, so the new card has more room to breathe. I was eyeing a new case anyway, for better air circulation and overall better temps with CPU and GPU.
The LianLi Lancool 217 is a really nice case for an even better price.

I. Am. A. Very. Happy. Racer. Now!! 😍🥳

Edit: that same Sunday I was building the computer, I looked up the local used market for some furniture that would fit the rest of the furniture in my pit box room and would give a new home for the new computer case. I don’t wanted it to stand on the ground. A 7 min search, 5 euro and a 10 min trip to the next village later, I was happy again. 😊

I will work on my cable management the coming days but for now it’s all running and I’m just enjoying it.

Guys, I'm now stuck with 5070 ti on i7 6700k because my savings can't catch up with the RAM price increase. RAM price went over 2x my savings and the more I save- the more the prices increase 💀

I hope you peeled off the protective film on both sides by now.

Your curent PC configuration is stable during everyday work ?
Simple asking, because is interesting - which issues can be on such system.

Even the prices of gaming GPUs will blow up now in 2026. I just hope this AI bubble pops soon.

It's stable for everyday work and at least I can play ps4 gen games decently thanks to the gpu. I used to have 980 ti which died- and using intel hd 530 until I got the new GPU was an awful experience.

New games however, have been CPU limited. But CPU limit could be dealt with. The bigger issue has been the HDD bottleneck, these new ps5 ports seem to rely on SSD way too much and playing on HDD just results in a stuttery mess. However, SSD prices have also skyrocketed in the last 2 months here and it's impossible to save up for a SSD at this point. So now I have both SSD and RAM to worry about.

Yeah, this is why I just decided to bit the bullet and go for the GPU first. Without it, even the older games weren't playable. I doubt the price will get much better after the bubble pops. GPU prices never recovered.
