Just won my first game though, 2-0 :) Was against someone rated way higher with a team of decent players.

I slightly edited the standard 4-4-2 formation, set all the sliders to 10 (so I had no extremes which could be expoited) and set some management options.

Then I spent almost all of my money on Danny Murphy and placed him in centre midfield.
What a signing! :WOOT:

He scored on his debut, created a few chances, and bossed the midfield - his touch, dribbling, technique and passing are so much better than the default players!

That's coz Danny Murphy r0ckz. How much do you get for releasing crappy players? How much did you sign him for? What happens if you go bankrupt?

You can get up to about £2m from the starting £500k from releasing the worst players.

I released the 3rd keeper (2 is enough imo) for about 700k, and then just the lowest rated other players.

Murphy was just over £1.9m, I actually didn't have enough to pay the quick match fee afterwards :LOL: Had to release another player.

I think the real money is in the competitions, I'll have to try one later :). I might try to sign all of the ex-Coventry players on the game :P.
 
I'm also playing 30 minute matches most of the time :D Just gives you more time to think, do what you want with the ball, etc.

Of course the scores will be pretty high because once you score two/three goals, if you still have many time left things will get easier and easier.

I can't believe that the full game is that much different from the demo.
I did notice differences from the MLO to the PES to WE demo but the way some of you describe the game sounds over the top and I know that the mistakes people are making is probably down to the same issues I had with the demo initially.

Take the shooting for example. I had the same problem for about a week initially and felt a little disappointed as I love taking shots from range but I now understand the game and know that I can't sprint and strike immediately or turn quickly and expect a shot to zing in from any angle. But now I can take long range shots and highly doubt it will be as different on the full game and if it were someone like Jimmy or Lami would have mentioned it by now.

But atleast you are making an effort. That tosser Dryzer just bitches and moans about PES and I really don't give a flying fizzle what he thinks.

Mate people on here do sound condescending. They think theres some kind of deep mysticysm to playing Pes, when theres nothing of the sort. theres no deep meaning of how to play it, its just a computer game that at times replicates the sport brilliantly and at times doesnt and feels faulty.

Its not layers of gameplay at all. Next people will be telling me the key to unlocking Torres potential in the game is to massage the controller.

I meant in the tactics menu before the game. I know it can be done in Edit Mode but I dont want the player playing the same every game. They should have kept it in the tactics menu, or kept the arrows that were in 2009(?)
 
I just made a peach of a goal.
The second time in ten years of PES that i actually save a goal.
I'm a pretty average player (an that's an understatement), i'm sure 95% of the people on this forum can win against me...i play a simple passing game without very techincal moves...

But sometimes, well twice in ten years.

This was the first leg of the quarter final of the Coppa Libertadores. I was playing witn Newell's Old Boys against Nacional Montevideo...and away match. It was leading 0-1 and then i scored this gem. It was the passing that was exceptional...the goal itself was rather simple.
three quick passes in succesion and goal. Maybe i will try to show my goal over here, although i haven't the feintest clue how to do that.

Basically speaking you know in real football when a winger tries to get past a sideback so in doing so physically uses their body to get past. This doesn't happen in PES. Your winger will get tackled/outmuscled/pushed over/stumble with the sam animation because they won't automatically try to hold off the oncoming defender. It's not exclusive to the wing either but it's probably a place where creating space by pushing the ball and getting behind the defender happens mainly.

I like this most of the time because it means the game doesn't turn into a sprinting contest but it is frustrating.

Perhaps it's just me but don't you find basically all the space you create comes from triangle passing across the pitch rather than beating players?

I hear you mate. I played a guy from Tunisia last night and it was difficult to say the least. a 0-0 but it was my most unenjoyable match to date.

Very smooth when playing europeans which went against my fear off the smoothness of the MLO being runed with lots more online.

Also how quick do the tournaments fill up? I was waiting for one to open and by the time i came out from the screen where it says i cannot enter to going out and back in 400 max was reached:RANT:

I ended up playing the coach mode and actually enjoyed it. never lost in 4. Drawn 3 won 1.

I also signed Tim Cahill at 1.7 million and he was beasting other players "big" stars and has a free roaming card so is involved everywhere. Klasnic is also a player who has been amazing for me at 2m. Has great touch,shooting and tricks but my ace in the pack is Thomas Muller:WORSHIP: He does it all.

I gather Beckham isn't in the game? I had him in my MLO team in the beta and would kill for him here. I remember him scoring numerous freekicks for me in the BETA. My young players need him!!

Any ideas on any way to sort the player switching shambles out?

Literally cost me 8 or 9 games in my ML season because i've conceded a goal because of the shitty player switching.

I'll be about to tackle a player and the Computer will switch to another player nowhere near the ball. Result = goal for the AI. Happened so many times when the game has been 0-0.

I can't stop playing the game but i've no idea why. It keep frustrating me because this happens all the time. What are the chances of Konami fixing this with a patch? Anybody else getting really wound up by it?
 
just past the 300 png mark on the option file adding the championship kits,theres enough png spaces to do every team in the whole file,il post up some pics later ,this file is going to be our best one ever!

What port am I meant to be using? Can I just do it via the PES port settings or do I have to set my router up too?

I couldn't get into the competitions list in MLO earlier. It kept searching for 30 seconds before bailing out to the MLO main screen. Tried to play a friendly after this had happened 3 times and I was sure that I wouldnt be able to play one of the bugger all competitions available to D5 players, but after finding someone it said an error occurred, so I quit out of the game in a strop. Then I logged back in and found I'd lost points even though the match hadn't kicked off.

If I use the auto setting instead of the default port it takes 3 minutes to test network settings and finds the competition list after 30 seconds or so. But the time added on to various loading screens is seriously annoying.

Konami are still so far behind with online tech.
 
goalgerd will Bundesliga teams be included in your OF?

Lovely, not. Expect all the kiddies to lap this one right up. The more people who see it done against them will do it themselves. Then it'll be done to whether Konami patch it or not AND whether they reset everyone, just the cheaters or lazily, no-one. Kind of glad I haven't tried it yet.

I don't think Zee was being condescending he was just trying to give advice, frustrating when a game doesn't work out how you expect. I would say it takes time but maybe that isn't good for whoever, but i'd like to think we can try and help without it turning into a flame. Anyway Dryzer this game amazes me in one game and completely infuriates me in another. But it's the best they have done in years.

Oh i agree mate its definetely a step forward which is good. I had a feeling though the game would still fall short because a year or just over isnt long enough to make all the wrongs, right.

With a better camera angle though ( i hate the almost above pitch cameras) and better ball physics and smoother animation this would deffo be up there. ive always preferred konamis graphics to fifas.

is anyone with me when I say 'remove the triangle, through-pass button from future PES versions, now that we have manual pass and power-bars on passes anyway'?
 
Rooney, but the passes produced by those buttons are different, that's why they're not in just ONE button, try to pick up a striker with a :x: pass like you would with a :triangle: pass, with the same power, and then do the same, in the same situation (if possible) but with a through ball this time, and you'll see the difference.

Or better, play in the center of midfield, a :triangle: pass to one side, with very little power, and the same with a :x: pass, very little power.
 
some horrible people online, just horrible. apart from the obvious stuff i hate the way people replay tap ins and simple goals along with the whole celebration, if it was a class goal i would understand but c'mon its a tad embarrassing.

i cant remember his gamertag but a spanish guy with evo web in his profile beat me 4-2, class act, would love to play you again on mlo,it was a great game.
 
I know what you mean, why the spammers with messi/cronaldo? Rainbow flicking c***s. They should take that bit of shit out of the game, or introduce a two footed tackle to combat it.
 
Right, so we can only have up to 64 songs for the menu screens? And when assigning tracks to teams for chants, it just picks up anything that's in a playlist already. Right?

i understand where you're coming from but you might have forgotten there's the option of manual pass(L2 with X). i just feel compared to pes5/6, the through-passes to the forwards are just too easy this time, maybe cus it's the demo and it's barca after all. i haven't got the full game here though. looking forward to it!
