PES2010 discussion thread

Online play is laggy as hell today. Just had a match with Jimmy it was not as bad as ours though. Konami needs to sort this out.

btw I popped in FiFA WC after our match and it ran bloody smooth. Pity the game sucks.

Yes it does. I think the problem lies in their servers. The first time I played WE: Blue Samurai online it was almost lag-free playing 4 games. Then a day or 2 later popped it in and fired up online, lag is back, but not as bad as PES. Then I thought to myself it must be the servers can't handle many people online at the same time. The night that was almost lag-free there were barely 50 people online, where as the day it was lagging, there were about 300 people online. They definitely need to sort that out. Go buy some monstrous servers or something.

By the way, I also think in addition to lag, whats making it worse online for PES 2010 is its sluggishness. Offline it feels sluggish, so when going online its going to feel twice as bad imo. WE: Blue Samurai is much more responsive and thats why I think online isn't that bad.

just played my first 2 games ever online last night, omg!! it was terrible the lag i was pressing buttons nothing happens then press button again before i know it i have made 2 passes instead of one.will have to play somebody from uk to see if its the same. have played on the dreaded fifa online just a couple of games altough i played the wifes brother who lives 5 mins away and it was like a rolls royce no lag compared to my experience of pes.do hope they get it sorted for pes2011 tho.

John,

Go online then make your way to Lobby EU08-Any4. Look for a game in there, if you have any lag issues whatsoever with any of the players in that lobby then you may have an issue with your connection.

cheers jimmyg may have a try tonight if i can send the wife to bed early enough, then open the tinnies!!!

Click the link in my signature John, it will give you an idea of the type of players you will find in that lobby. All have flawless connections.

Played this for the first time and got absolutely destroyed by the CPU on Top Player, also hearing the commentators interrupt each other was hilarious

Lately, I've been playing PES 2010. It's a pretty good game for its time, despite some issues.

The lighting, graphics, kits, player physics, menus, tactical aspects, Master League, and BAL Mode are all quite good. The player physics and lighting are particularly among the best in the series. PES 2011 took a step back in terms of lighting, player physics, and kit designs.

As for the downsides, the gameplay isn't smooth enough. The goalkeepers aren't very good. Player animations are a mixed bag. The shooting and passing animations are nice, but the running and goalkeeper animations are poor, even for its time.
One of the things that upsets me the most about this game is that the 3D grass found in PES 2008 and PES 2009 has been removed from this game.

Still, it was enjoyable to go back and play this game. It's a playable game for nostalgia.

The video is from a match I played.

I 100% agree mate! I thought the graphics in PES 2010 were absolutely gorgeous, the lighting and the atmosphere in general, and the overall structure of ML and the menus are all very well organized and enjoyable! I actually think that PES 2008 and 2009 PC are also really good editions (contrary to most opinions on PES 2008) with the right patches and conditions! Overall, I find these three installments quite undervalued! :BSCARF: :TU:

player physics
I don't agree about this part.

I found PES 2011 had better player physics, take a look on how the Adidas 2010 kits look like between the DLC of PES 2010 and PES 2011.
On the 2011 edition, they fit better player body and quite similar to the reality, on 2010 they look a little bit larger than players' body.

That year, adidas released their tech-fit kits. In PES 2011, players wearing these kits look good. But in my opinion, the regular-fit kits worse than 2010. Not only in terms of appearance, but also in terms of texture and movement, the kits in PES 2010 are significantly better. Also in PES 2011, the players look like hunched over and more thin. Of course, this is just my observation and opinion; I respect your opinion as well.
