That's odd. The fifaconfig.exe usually does nothing for me; for some reason the changes don't apply and I set everything manually in the ini files. Have you tried running the FIFA.exe in the main folder? After running that exe you should get the instance0 file in Documents and a crash dump file in the folder of the game.
This on W10 btw!

I'm also on Windows 10. The instance0 file is created when the game launches, but the game doesn't launch at all and I'm stuck on the EA App Store.
I tried opening it directly from the main folder, but nothing works.

Hi. Sorry, I've realized I made a mistake and my instructions were not clear regarding the bin file. First, always run the game via fifa13.exe (fifaconfig.exe doesn't really work). After running the game you will get an "instance0" folder in "Documents\FIFA 13". Inside this folder you will find a "bin. file" named "replay0.bin". Right click on this file, go to properties and check "read only". After that click apply and accept. Go back to Program files\FIFA 13\Games and run the exe of the game. You'll notice the fifa13 icon on the bar and then the EA App will open. Wait until the EA App is fully loaded and click on "minimize" (don't close the EA window; at least I never do that, just minimize), and then click on the fifa 13 icon on the bar to open the game and that's it. I have it working on W7 compatibility mode.
If nothing else works, then the problem could be related to a missing DLL. Sometimes you don't get a message telling you exactly the name of the missing dll. Years ago I found this rar. full of dlls on mediafire and what i do is paste them on the folder of the game i want to play (this for older games). I wonder why you don't have that folder, if the crash dump file shows up it's cause the game executed and there was a problem. My last suggestion would be point 5, check: Local disk (C)\Users\your_new_user_name\Documents\FIFA 13. If you have the EA app installed (don't know if it makes a difference but I created an account there), the game installed properly on program files, and if in Documents you see the config file, then it could be that the game is saving the files in a different location. This happened to me because I have two users (due to the unsupported characters problem I mentioned) and the game saves the files there. Maybe it's the same for you? It only happens with fifa 13.
I'm fairly sure I downloaded the game from that link too (or maybe it was FIFA 12?) but here's another you can try (https://www.cg-gamespc.net/games/fifa-13-p). Use the mediafire links. It's the same version (1.7) taken from the same uploader (el amigos).
 
Thanks for the links fellas. I've been desperate to experience the same FIFA gameplay of 15 & 16 that I get on Xbox Series X (Or as close to) on the PC because for me they are the best football games ever made, and you combine that experience with the ability to add mods etc then Ill care less about the fact EA and Konami have killed their franchises and football gaming in general cause that'd be the perfect game but the gameplay just feels substantially different on PC and not for the better and matter what sliders I change or fps I achieve it just feels off and the only thing left I can think of is that the versions of the games available are the difference. So on Xbox the version of Fifa 16 I have is V1.44.20513.8 whilst PC version is V16.0.2904053 and for Fifa 15 it's 1.27.53263.17 on Xbox and 15.8.1824501..

So may question is, are these different versions available anywhere or is there any way to alter which version of the exe?

apologies, I know it's a very convoluted and "newbie" question!

One thing I've noticed about these fifa installers is that later releases (updates/patches by EA) were not cracked, and thus you're left with the August/September releases only (which is not bad at all, it's great to have access to these old gems anyway). So maybe you played with the November/February updates on the Xbox and that's what you remember?
One exception would be the FIFA 12 release shared here: it has a working Euro DLC (came out in April).

The Fifa 16 I got from FItGirl was V16 which must be one of the later updates no?

So is there anyway to update/change the version of the game or are you aware of any other versions? The CPU AI is so aggressive but not in a chanllenging way but in a hyper sweaty, scripted way. Makes it unplayable. Obviously a gameplay mod is another option but as I enjoyed the vanilla gameplay on console so much that is my last resort.

Hi, does anybody know if the Fifa 18 provided in the first post is moddable? cause I recently downloaded a version from fitgirl but I cannot mod it with infinity patch from that year... if anybody knows a solution I'll be glad to hear... cheers
 
Well 14 3dm season 2 crashed for me with moddingway and FIFA 15 doesn't like paulvk gameplay mod mixed with career revolution and normal revolution mod
 
For those who don't know, FIFA 12 has version 1.7, which is the latest. And sorry for this question, but why isn't this version 1.7 of FIFA 12 cracked?
