Bodö glimt vs Inter
3-1 and 2-1 away (with 5 min to go)
Inter has been in the CL final two years in a row.
Now (most likely) getting knocked out.
One of footballs biggest upsets.
God check a map on where Bodö is located in Norway
This is Insane, and why we love football

And the starting Eleven for Bodö had 9 Norwegian players, One Dane and one from some other country.
Plus, the Norwegian League hänt even started yet which makes this even more Insane

I'm not a Norwegian football fans, but it's so wild that Bodo/Glimt had a spectacular performance in the European club competitions for the last 3 years. This is the same Bodo/Glimt that inflicted such a surprising results in the European club competitions against big European clubs, like when they destroyed Roma 6-1 in the Conference League not long before, and had a great Europa League run the last season, where they knocked Lazio by the penalty shootout in the quarterfinal and then only losing to Tottenham Hotspurs that won the entire thing. Even the great Manchester City team under Pep Guardiola suffered so heavily by this Norwegian might.

The main reason Bodo/Glimt had such a great results in Europe was pretty much obvious. Bodo, a small town with population even matching the same amount of average of football attendances in big countries, is situated in northernmost part of Norway, closer to the Arctic Circle, where the weather is usually cold throughout the year. Even during the summer, the weather in this small town is quite chill. Due to this extreme winter condition in Bodo (or other parts of regions around the world), football stadiums often used artificial turf as opposed to natural ones in order to keep the football field healthy from that harsh climate. The usage of artificial turf is illegal only in the FIFA World Cup matches, where stadiums must use their natural grass for this tournament.

I didn't really offend so much about this club. Bodo/Glimt played such a fantastic football right now. They have beaten the likes of Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and now, Inter Milan. The Norwegian football is so cooking right now, especially with the fact the national team will play in this year's World Cup with two Premier League stars (Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard). Even the Norwegian winter sport athletes have dominated the recent Winter Olympics.

I'll try to keep it brief.

If Inter had had Lautaro, Acerbi and Calhanoglu. And no offence to Chivu, but he's too quiet for me and contributes less than Conte or Inzaghi during a match.

At least, that's my impression here at home watching the DAZN live streams.
So I could be wrong about Chivu.

Then things would certainly have turned out differently. You can lose in Norway. The cold, which is unfamiliar to Italians, and then there's the artificial turf.

But apart from that, without this modest ‘new’ UCL mode, Bodö wouldn't even be in the UCL.

Thats why its so impressive, its like the bumble Bee, they are not suppose to fly, yet they do
Vs a Multi billion Company.
Fick modern football and Viva Bodö

Celta Vigo død it, and now Getafe
Winning vs Real Madrid at Bernabeau.
Think all RM fans should give an extra Prayer to Vinicius who pretty much bad mouthed Xabi away, now comes the payback.

Gotta say, if anyone has switched off from the tedious PL and watched any games in the SPL it's been a treat this season! My team are garbage most of the PL games are garbage ( I'm 54 so seen a lot of football) but the SPL is the gift that keeps on giving. It seems to get bashed in terms of quality, but I personally feel it's a skewed viewpoint considering the football being played. Most teams are intent on attack minded football. Players get their head up and look to play the ball forward most of the time which makes it exciting to watch. Also players not afraid to be individual and take a player on. All of these things are lacking in the PL at the moment. Coaches yelling all game and for my team at least players not able to perform the fundamental basics of the game. I hope this is just the beginning of a more competitive SPL.

I think the standard of the league is the poorest it's been for a while up here (European results attest to that) but competitiveness can't be argued with. As Barry Hearn said of Scottish football: two donkeys can have a great race.

I've mixed opinions about Hearts this season. I want the duopoly broken, but can it not be literally anyone else?! Motherwell especially, by far the most entertaining side in the league.

At his point I've realised the SPL could refer to the Saudi league, but I'll carry on presuming you mean Scotland!

Anyway, I can't see it lasting. I wondered for a long time whether another team could do it, but thought the circumstances required were too improbable. Mainly both Celtic and Rangers being shambolic. Tick and tick. First time EVER they both replaced managers mid-season. And another team having a blinder in terms of recruitment and a steady season free of blips. Tick (even though Hearts have had some key injuries). And the rest of the league being poor and giving up points. Tick (Motherwell aside, and Falkirk have been good for being Falkirk).

I'm super pissed off that the team to take advantage isn't Aberdeen, as I sense it'll revert to type next season. Based on resources, Celtic and Rangers should be miles ahead every season. Other teams barely have a right to take a point off them, never mind a title.

Always good to see an English person big it up though. Few things unite Scots more than 'Morecambe would win the SPL and my nan would finish top scorer' banter. Scottish football could and should be better, but it doesn't try to be something it's not, and no-one up here puts it on a par with the English top flight.

I agree on the Premier League. It's tough to watch right now. I'm one of those guys who sees football as sport and not entertainment. The entertainment the masses derive from football is a by-product and teams have every right to go out there and do what they need to do and win. But, of course, I do want to be entertained by football even if I don't expect it! The fact that it's Arsenal too, for whom I've had a soft spot since 01/02 (I don't care if they weren't unbeaten like two years later, they were a better team to watch).

Just settling down for the Aberdeen v Celtic game. Football is supposed to be entertaining and stir you even if it's not your team. PL doesn't do that even though my team play there. It's sad to say but true...

What did you think of it? I thought it was a decent game and we played some alright stuff apart from the final ball. Awful defending from set pieces cost us again.

I think football and entertainment have an awkward relationship. All depends who it is and what their level is. Greece clogging their way to a Euros? Fine. Arsenal, with those resources, clogging their way to a Premier League? Nah. Their fans and anyone watching on can expect better!

For me I can always forgive quality as long as there is intent to play football. Counter attack has its place but you can't base your entire style around it. Same goes for possession football. Put simply it's no good playing Counter if you can't defend nor possession if you can't break a team down. Most of the SPL teams seem to play a balance between both styles. It looked after 20 minutes like Celtic might dominate but Aberdeen found away to turn the pressure back on Celtic. Decent game considering the pitch.

Sweden has been shit all along the WC qlf got a second chance via playoff and knocked out Ukraine and tonight a 3-2 goal vs Poland in the 89th minute secured a WC spot this Summer
One hell of a game

Italian Football is absolute garbage right now. They totally deserved this big downfall no matter how good the team was. Same thing goes to the reality check for the performance in the European club competitions, especially the Champions League (no Italian teams have even made so far in this season, lol). Of course, we couldn't blame VAR or something shenanigans as a coincidence. It's Calciopoli where the boat started to sink and caught fire.

I really wanted Italy to qualify.. Somehow a World Cup without the Azzurri feels incomplete..
The only positive that I can get from this, personally, is that I would love to see Ancelotti finish his career as manager of the Italy NT.
As much as I like Brazil, seeing Carlo manage Italy eventually and guide them back to their rightful place in history would be the stuff of FIFA Career or Master League stories.....
Hmmmm...... Might be an idea for a future ML or Career campaign....

Opening day of Swedish Allsvenskan (only League without VAR)
And this is how our traditional marsch looks like every year for our first home game

Looks great. It's probably especially great without VAR 😄

I just wanted to point this out. In the Atalanta v Juve match, the home side’s starting 11 plus substitutes include a total of 8 Italians, whilst Juve have a total of 6 Italians.

That could be one of the reasons why the Squadra Azzurra have once again failed to qualify for the World Cup. :BSCARF:

And on another note. What’s all this nonsense with the LaLiga retro scoreboard, referee’s Kits, EA Sports logo and so on for Sevilla v Atleti? It really should have been broadcast in black and white as well... :NONO:

Then there’s the new OM club logo. :NONO:

None of it’s very nice.

Go and win the UCL trophy and the Copa del Rey, Atleti. Vamos Atleti :RSCARF::RSCARF::RSCARF:

I’ll spare you any further comment on Gavi’s elbow check on Ruggeri – without even coming close to a yellow card – picking up the ball with his hands outside the box, and then stopping the ball with his hand after it had been played back by his own player with his foot.

But it is funny that those who are favoured are always the ones who complain and grumble the most to the referee.

Yeah, yeah, Uefalona...
