• Hotmail/Outlook (any Microsoft email services) folks. Microsoft is currently blocking our emails. We have raised a support ticket with them and will update when we can.

    In the meantime it's possible that adding robot@evoweb.uk to your address book/contacts will help and if you're able to switch to a different email provider, that would work fine.

    We have also increased the number of bounce emails we can handle before accounts are marked as requiring verification again to hopefully mitigate the issue a bit as well.

Another human foot has been discovered on Canada's British Columbia shoreline.

It was the second one this week and the sixth within a year in a bizarre mystery that has confounded police.

Like most of the others, it was a right foot encased in a running shoe, said police Sgt Mike Tresoor. He said a citizen spotted it on a beach and no other remains were found.

The feet were all recovered within a few miles of each other along island shorelines in the Strait of Georgia, which lies to the south and west of the city of Vancouver.

Authorities say they haven't reached any conclusions about the origin of the feet but are working to determine if there are any links to any other partial remains recovered in the province.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokeswoman Constable Annie Linteau said: "It's very unusual. To my knowledge, we have not encountered anything like this."

Sgt Tresoor said major crime investigators from the Campbell River detachment, along with staff from the coroner's office, went to the scene to investigate.

"The object will ultimately be examined by a forensic pathologist in attempts to determine the source of the foot and if it is related to other feet recently found," Sgt Tresoor said in a statement.

Terry Smith, the chief coroner of British Columbia, said this week that DNA profiles from the first three feet have not helped to determine identities because they have not matched any existing samples. Mr Smith and others have suggested that the feet didn't sink but floated to shore because they were encased in buoyant running shoes.

Curtis Ebbesmeyer, an oceanographer based in Seattle, said when a human body is submerged in the ocean, the main parts like arms, legs, hands, feet and the head are usually what come off the body.
 
The coroner's office in British Columbia, Canada has called the discovery of a sixth floating human foot a hoax, saying it was an animal paw stuffed inside a running shoe.

At first, Thursday's discovery seemed to deepen the mystery surrounding the feet, all found floating along island shorelines in the Strait of Georgia near Vancouver.

But the coroner's office called the latest find a hoax, saying an animal's foot had been inserted inside the shoe.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say whoever is behind the hoax could face charges.

"Whoever is responsible for this took the time to ensure that the remains were set up to closely resemble human remains," RCMP Inspector Brendan FitzPatrick said.

Mr FitzPatrick said the fact someone would go to such lengths for the hoax is disturbing.

"Due to the nature of these incidents over the past year, many families with missing loved ones are closely watching and wondering if it is their loved one who has been found. The insensitivity shown to the families and the victims involved is unbelievable," he said.
