The Retro-PES Corner

Hi everyone,

I managed to unlock the Asian teams in Winning Eleven J.League 2007 Club Championship.
Up to the J-West category, everything works perfectly: all clubs are playable, with correct squads and uniforms.

However, after that:

  • some teams have players but no uniforms,
  • others have uniforms but no squads,
  • so they are not fully usable or are bugged.

My idea is to add a “League D” to place all the missing or incomplete teams there, in order to:

  • complete their squads,
  • fix their uniforms,
  • and make every team fully playable.

If anyone has experience with:

  • league editing,
  • team IDs,
  • hidden league structures,
  • or creating a new league in JW2007CC,

your help would be really appreciated.
The goal is simple: to have all Asian teams complete and fully functional in the game, without squad or kit issues.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help or point me in the right direction.IMAGE01.jpgIMAGE02.jpgIMAGE03.jpgIMAGE04.jpgIMAGE05.jpg

So as you know I'm searching for the dlc fix for winning eleven 2012 j league dlc , I've searched all over the internet to find the dlc fix but couldn't find anything except the game only and I found the 2012 dlc here in @8ak6 post, if you could find the dlc files you can also find the edat files from the system hdd0/game/BLJM60385, the only solution I have is to find someone who already has the dlc and extract the edat files from their system or someone here who has more connections can find it

If anyone is not familiar with the issue , the dlc is installed but it doesn't show inside game (license files missed)

I'm assuming it's not the original but a patched version. If it's the one I'm thinking of then it has countless bugs like all the other versions of WE/PES this user releases. Maybe download the original game and look for a simple English translation patch that doesn't alter anything else other than the language.

Are you referring to me?

No mate. I'm referring to one not on this website but didn't want to name the person 🙂
No problem, it's ok, I was just going to explain that version @kerim is screenshotting is my translation but I didn't do anything to mod the game too much. It was just a translation to English (my first one), edited turf, adboards and emblems and I think the kits were via option file if I remember.

Most likely his issue is that those teams are hidden by default, so enabling them via hex edit can cause issues as he is experiencing. Even an original Japanese copy will experience the same.

Ah ok yeah makes sense.
I've only played a couple of yours, one of which was WE9LE I think and I don't recall there being any bugs or problems with that.
I was playing the Redux 3.0 WE7i the other day and thought it was a pretty nice patch but then I noticed that a lot of player stats are wrong. I know you did a WE7i based on that a while ago. Was wondering if it was just a patch improvement or if you addressed the Redux stats in your patch?

I addressed the stats in my patch. I don't like when people change the stats (apart from one instance - the Neoseeker option files from back in the day had stats made by some people who put proper research into the changes and many of the small stat tweaks actually appeared in subsequent versions by Konami themselves).

I spent hours going through the Redux patch which I used as a base for my WE7I patch and restored them all back to the original Konami stats. There were a few players who had been added as part of the February transfer update (probably around a dozen or so if I recall) as well as to replace PES and WE United. I just based those players off the stats from PES 4 or PES 5 depending on which game they appeared in.

Yeah the WE9LE patch should have no issues. I always try to keep the patches as clean as possible. Translation if required, kits, emblems, turf, balls, adboards and sometimes chants.

Yeah that's what I meant. The stats on the Redux patch were already edited and incorrect (unlike the default stats, which is what I personally prefer so I can adjust them to my liking)
I was going to try your WE7i patch a while ago, downloaded it and then forgot I downloaded. I think I've got like 4 different PS2 patch versions of WE7i 😂
I will try it tomorrow cheers ✌️

Mates, I was remembered that nickname Neoseeker sounds known for me, searched and found this document.

May be will be useful and interesting to check for someone.

I wish we could see this version of the game on PC. I'm very curious about how this version of the game could be improved with mods.

Also I wish there was at least a mod that could import Xbox graphics to PC.

It's crazy how much better PES 6 on XBOX 360 looks (I would say even graphic wise) than PES 2008. Animations look more realistic as well in my opinion. I still have a copy, but almost never played it, because the PC version has and had so many mods.

But saying that, I would really like to know, who at Konami thought they needed to add those ugly sand bags in the goals with this version and then in PES2008 and 2009... The PS2/PC of PES 6 Version had realistic looking goals/ goal nets, but someone must have thought: "You know with the added power of next gen consoles, we can finally put nice sand bags at the bottom of the goals." I don't even know if I've ever seen this in real life...

Is there a translated and patched version of WE7I (Japanese version) available on PC?
I saw a few patched versions of WE7 available here on this forum, but its the non upgraded version of WE7I, the japanese one is the updated one when it comes to animation and gameplay, but im having trouble finding it.

If PES 2008 'next-gen' looked and played like PES 2011, do you think PES would've had the same downfall as it did?

Just a random thought

It has an English language option by default. Player names in Japanese, however.

Interesting question... I'd say no. You're probably looking at three points of abandonment for PES - 2008, 2014, and 2021 and I would say 2008 was the most damaging. If it had been as per your hypothetical it wouldn't have been as critical a hit.

But, you have to also consider just how much better FIFA got in that time. The gameplay caught up with the content. And then there's Ultimate Team... Say FIFA 08 looked and played like FIFA 11. I, a die hard PES fan during the PS2 era, would've switched anyway.

I have seen a lot of various discussions here regarding PES 3 and WE7 International in terms of differences in gameplay and challenge.

Which version is harder for you guys?
I feel like PES3 is slightly easier in terms of user's control while AI being a little better in attack, while WE7I feels more "heavy" in control while AI is slightly worse in attack, but i feel like it might be a placebo lol

Nothing wrong with a nice pair of sandbags

Never tried Fifa Total Football until now, and it's litterally a copy/paste from Pes + Football Kingdom (even shooting is square by default)
They're totally shameless at EA seriously. Ah yes there's more than 8 direction (+- 32), the others "old school versions" of that game who got 360 degree movement are all on PsP, WC South Africa 2010 and Fifa 10 started to play like this but are much more playing like the new gen Ps3 from that era. It's sad that they keept the same movements control on their Ps2 versions with 8 directions.

PES could've keep that system as firstly the game is played a bit like a VS Fighting game in the command area/easy to play hard to master / and realistic on the pitch as there's not only tons of outcomes due to very advanced ball physics, AI and stats influence but also not only a balance regarding score, but regarding what a pro football can/can't do like he wants on a real match.

Ps2 Fifa was just OK, simple and balanced wiht PES influence on that time, but there wasn't as much possibilities as what i said just before was only on PES.

So bringing more than 8 directions was a bit like in FK, a way to create more outcomes to their games. I wonder why they didn't introduce it aswell on PS2, it's not like PsP was more powerful, but it was a PsP gameplay feature only. Probably and simply because they didn't carried. PES did the same for 3DS Pes 2011 to WE 2014, and Wii played with Classic controller from what i've read here (didn't tried myself).
