Dirt 2 is nothing to compare in terms of hardcore gameplay and the rest. Trust me
Edit: Dirt 2 and Dirt Rally 2.0 are 2 very different games, and Im assuming you meant Dirt Rally 2.0? Im talking about DR2.0.
And i thought Dirt Rally 2.0 was a sim lol. Just tried ACR, and wow... what a difference. So much more weight to the car, where I was just going way too fast for my amateurish skill level, too much heavy throttling, to the point I often couldn't brake quickly enough around corners. Even with the 4wd Lancia Delta HF, often found myself oversteering, and being able to counter in time for a full wipe out.
Went back to DR2.0 right after, and wow... I can drive so much faster, and still be under relatively good control.
Moral of the story is... ACR is a core sim... and i need to treat all cars accordingly. Crazy how hard this is atm, but im loving it. Just wished my T300 gt wheel's d-pad would work, as it have to use my keyboard or controller to navigate up and down the menu. Im guessing this will be fixed.
Chris, get yourself a half decent wheel.. you won't regret it. The thrustmaster t300 gt was the best purchase i ever made for racing games. Does an amazing job, and when set up right, is kick ass for ART OF RALLY, probably my most played rally game. I get better precision, and times with the wheel than when I compare to using my ps5 controller:
I am thinking of upgrading soon though... ie. possibly Fanatec direct drive (not sure which one i should go for as a next step from T300) with a rally style wheel, and handbreak/sequential shifter. I dont have cockpit, nor really need one, but have my current wheel/pedals attached to a next level 2.0 frame, and simply sit on my couch with this frame up close.. very comfortable.
