EA SPORTS FC 26

This is a bug. For created club it picks the league you have for your favourite team and you can't change it. Change your favourite team to the league you want to create your club on.

I'm sorry for digging this topic up again - i haven't been into this thread very regularly.

What kind of bug is this?
When FC 26 came out, the first thing I did was create a new MC with a custom club.
I was able to choose the country, the league and the club that was about to be replaced by my club.
Even although i picked up my favourite club before in the settings, I was not bound to that league.

I tried to change the favourite club now. And when trying to replace the team with my custom club, it shows the newly chosen favourite club and I can't change anything!
I'm not dreaming. It was possible before, because last time I created my custom club and went into the EFL League Two (with a German club :P).
But somehow this is not possible anymore. And i cannot understand why.

Are you in career mode?
yes in Career Mode. I think it's something that just occurs from time to time, at different parts of the day. Maybe something to do with the engine.
Hopefully it'll sort itself out with time, or perhaps also the different Gameplay Mods can be helpful in this regard. :)

Career mode have tons of boosts sadly that can only be disabled through modding.

What did you think of the goalkeeper's positioning in FC26? I learned from interviews that they want to apply reinforcement learning to other areas in the future. Maybe it will help with the players' intelligence.

I think its funny that they say the GK positioning is AI learned but they stay glued to the line on 1on1´s. No goalkeeper in the world does that.

This is almost 100% definitely down to the eSports / "skill gap" crowd.

The keeper leaving his line is like a defender charging towards the ball-carrier - they are both "AI assisted defending", which is, apparently, disgusting. (Yet AI assisted literally-everything-else isn't, such as all your passes being perfectly hit, powered and aimed for you.)

But aside from that, keepers are the best they've ever been, IMO - and it's so rare for any gameplay element since FIFA 16 to have been genuinely improved.

It's especially gratifying when they get a hand to the ball but the shot was struck too hard, and the ball is palmed into the back of the net - or when it's tipped onto the bar, or just over the bar. It's almost like physics matter, which they don't for the fundamentals.

(Though I'd like to see far more instances where they misjudge the flight of the ball and deflect it into their own box - but the ball isn't "free", and where it goes is the result of gameplay considerations, not physics calculations.)

Previously, keepers had fists like the Hulk and every shot would be sent out of trouble so as not to annoy those who'd scream "my keeper shouldn't make mistakes, how is it a 1v1 experience if the AI decides to let my opponent win by not saving every single shot or putting it out for a corner".

I remember it was in FC24 that EA asked in a survey in the beta if the goalkeepers were too aggressive in 1X1. The competitive has been complaining about the goalkeepers because they help the bad players.

Are wild speed fluctuations still common?
Started up the game today and I swear, it felt like 15% faster than just a few days ago (using same sliders and settings, etc)..
It has been a problem with FIFA/FC ever since I switched to it back in 2010 (ish). Even the AI decision making changes day to day.

Obviously on top of that EA added more "dynamic features" over the years which made things worse. Career mode is significantly worse now more than ever.

On top the GK topic. I hate the fact that GKs are glued to their line. It means the "Sweeper Keeper" role does absolutely nothing. Also, on the vanilla game it is so easy to lob a goalkeeper. So I think they "fixed" it by not letting the GK move off their line.

GKs are difficult. It's like I want them to be a challenge. If I'm one-on-one, it's not a guarantee I score. GKs should be able to pull off superb saves and not be useless. But I want to be able to beat them from distance also. I feel like ratings have little effect on GKs. Donnarumma is as equal as a Brad Guzan in many cases

But isnt something like this why we have "Authentic Mode" now? Should be an easy fix to have the goalkeepers come off the line just on authentic settings.

Roles are not different between Authentic and Competitive, so anything role based (which is a surprising amount) is not different.

A lot of the Goalkeeping settings available to the gameplay team do absolutely nothing these days. There seems to be some hard coded trickery going on thats essentially breaking them.

Has been a problem in FIFA / FC for years.

I was playing an exhibition game two nights ago in NBA 2K26 and the announcer said “and welcome to hoops, the night before Thanksgiving…” The game will also mention actual scores from games of the previous night and show actual upcoming schedules/records of the teams. This really adds a nice level of immersion, like you’re in the actual season that’s occurring. I wish FC would do this. They have “live form” but adding a few commentary lines and splashes of graphics from the current season would be a nice addition.

Yeah, I was playing NBA 2k14 and they had some Halloween and Christmas graphics and commentary if I remember correctly. It's something small, but it is a nice touch. It'd translate well accross all patches, too.

I think I have a quarter of my normal play time (clubs/manager career) because of all this, it's just gotten worse every year. People will complain about AI standing around but then also complain if the AI engages with the second part of the acronym at all, they just want foosball with better graphics.

Please anyone s advise would be appreciated? Is it worth gettinf??
It's hard to answer,it depends of many things.
If you want an decent offline career with a better gameplay than FC24/25.
It's yes.
But if the lack of fouls is a problem, a some strange bugs, you have to wait a little.

A new patch will dropped tomorrow !
If you can touch it with a nice discount, let's go. Not full price.

I played as Pescara away at Bari a couple days ago and the AI fouled me like 4-5 times, ending up with 3 yellow cards. I've never had any issues with a lack of fouls at all really.

I even got a penalty in a woman's CL match

Another? Why can't they just leave the bloody thing alone? Fix what's actually broken, like the goal replay camera staring at the centre circle. I might have a game tomorrow morning and jump with some thoughts in here, but my eye for the small things isn't as much as some here. So it'll be very basic opinion based on the feel and the ease of the AI etc.

This must be the only game in history where people moan about a developer providing regular updates for it. :D

I get it, truly - I've said many times that it's pretty crazy that you can buy a game that plays one way, enjoy it, buy the game and then within weeks it plays differently (in a way you may, or may not, appreciate).

Look at how the offline AI's changed - it holds onto the ball more and it shoots from distance less often. Some might like that, some might hate it, and they give us no "gameplay selector" in order to change to a version we liked best, which is criminal in my honest opinion.

But that being said... The gameplay split, even if you don't like the "Authentic" gameplay, at least protects us from the worst changes.

I'd certainly rather they kept trying to improve the game, seeing as I really don't like where it is right now, with pass physics being like bullets, not footballs.

(But I suppose you could argue that the game should be kept as it is for those who enjoy it, rather than trying to make it better for those who don't.)

EDIT: I will say their Pitch Notes wording is a bit weird... "More authentic play"? According to who? The majority of the changes are to keep Competitive players happy (though they clearly state which changes are Competitive-only). Why use the word "authentic" when there's an Authentic mode? Why confuse things?

I'm having fun playing it, given that it's not perfect by any means.

No online for the moment, and probably no online from here to eternity apart from Clubs (should I decide to jump back in and should my former club allow me to re-join, not willing to find another club at the moment).
Just some friendlies (trying to get the hold of the game before starting a career either with Entella or with a NWSL team) and some no-stress FUT (only SBC's and squad battles, an offline draft once because I found a token in a free pack).

With SBCs you can get an acceptable team with little-to-no effort (apart from the time spent building the squads).
Basically, I'm doing daily upgrade SBC's to slowly exchange bronze and silver players for gold ones, then using the gold ones to refine the squad (even if I don't know whether I'll refine it further, every change I seem to make breaks chemistry somehow).
Now I have a half-decent team (83-rated, 33 chem) and I'm only playing squad battles at the moment. All the players are untradeable, but who cares.

Well they apparently fixed (well... They said they would, at least, haven't tried it yet) the bug that prevented us from choosing the team to replace with "create a club" in career mode.
And I also hope they fix the replay camera issue because it's annoying.

Im only.interested in offline career, a realistic career with good gameplay

Mate, I’ve only played a couple of matches and even if that’s not much, I haven’t noticed major changes — either positive or negative.
The patch notes mentioned adjustments for goalkeepers, but the fouls issue is still there (it’s been 2 months!), replays haven’t been fixed, and on corner kicks there are only 3 attacking players.

What can I say… this year I expected a better product based on community feedback, but unfortunately that’s not the case.
After 2 months since release (€80…), I find it absurd that such major errors are still present.

My message may sound pessimistic, and in part it is. But at the same time I keep playing because I find it a good product, definitely better than all the FIFA/FC titles I’ve played on console.

I haven't played it for a month and I played a few matches tonight. Everything is more assisted, robotic, and the authentic mode seems to have disappeared because everything is so controlled and predictable. We can see the goals coming from miles away, the players become unstoppable, and the goal comes at the end of an often unrealistic, arcade-style sequence.

In short, I absolutely hated the 10 matches I played, only the pace of the game was decent. For me, they've gone back to the easy route with a stupid scripted AI like in previous FIFA games and stopped working properly.
