Microsoft Flight Simulator [PC/Xbox]

I am playing this on my XSS and i dont have those problems. Yes game sometimes crash, but i had that problem like 2 or 3 times since it came out.

Btw it is a masterpiece. They nailed it.

Still, as a first party, exclusive game, that was released 3 years ago - it should be fully optimised by now and run smooth as butter.
None of the Playstation exclusives ever crash for me. There is no excuse for the state of it.

I wouldn't say this is really an Xbox problem.
It doesn't exactly run amazing on PC either.

I have a 4090 and still can't have it maxed out.

I'm running everything on ultra on a 3060Ti, 60fps at 1920x1080. Only need to lower some settings when I'm flying with big commercial planes. You should be able to run the sim maxed out 4k on a 4090. Strange.
 
I will need to have a look at it again.
My GamePass has expired and probably won't subscribe again now for a while and also not buying the game with the new one being released this year.

But do remember that playing at 4K not everything was on Ultra to achieve 60FPS and some things were even on medium.

The game is incredibly demanding and just really hope they up the graphics again for 2024 and absolutely destroy my PC like FS 2020 did when that was released.
However given that it is still being released for the Series S makes me think that it will remain exactly the same with just a couple of extra features.

Yes, I don't think they'll do major updates in graphics. They still rely on Bing for the maps, maybe they'll provide more detailed buildings?
 
I'm excited about the upcoming release. According to them there will be graphical and performance improvements. The current game already beautiful and to me its one of the few this generation that still blows my mind. See below for some of the improvements vs MSFS2020

It will be interesting to see FS2024 but I am on the sceptical side.
The game can probably be improved on the simulation/flying side.

But this is where I am sceptical, how are they going to improve the graphics of the game.
It already looks superb and the current version of the game already pushes the consoles to the absolute limit:
Xbox X - 30FPS @1440 upscaled to 4K - And doesn't run at PC ultra settings (similar to medium/high)
Xbox S - 30FPS @1080
So really don't know how they are going to make the game better graphically.

Most likely will try gamepass for a month when it is released to see if there is any difference.
 
Good interview, I hope they deliver as it seems pretty ambitious. Really looking forward to this, been having a great time getting flights here and there either on the XBSX and xCloud. More server based data and less on the client, hope their servers can handle it

A few comparison slides to showcase the update in graphics and lighting. Looks absolutely incredible. Can't wait to try the new airliners
I'd have to say this game (and 2020) is one of the few that for me looks truly next gen

This is the curious thing for me too.
I really don't know how the performance graphics are going to be improved on the Xbox.
They are already pushed to the absolute limit by this game and FS 2024 is surely going to be more demanding.

Won't be able to play the game though until December as also want to try Indiana Jones so will get a Game Pass for the month of December.

As I understand, they improved performance vs 2020. It's supposed to data stream the locations vs having it render locally on the hard drive. In theory it should run the same as it does now (not on the level of detail as a PC obviously, but if you are ok with how it runs 2020 it should be the same experience as the new one).

I wouldn't know about custom aircraft as those can be a little more demanding.

I got access to the alpha for MS2024, and been testing it out. It looks better although keep in mind that I have been playing on Xbox the 2020 version. However I do feel the ground detail and the buildings look better (in 2020 some buildings far away look like pyramids). Clouds look much better

I did have to put it on medium graphic preset although it recommended High, mostly bc my fans were blowing full force. but as soon as I set on medium it was nice and quiet. could be just the alpha
For reference I have an amd 7600 cpu, 6750xt, 32gb ram.

Gave a try to career mode, it seems entertaining, granted its not a deep career with a lot of detail (did one flight then get a private license which is to take off, turn around and land). Then there are smaller 15 min missions that are pretty much the same depending on your starting airport (I chose airport close to miami so my mission was to take some newlyweds sightseeing and then land). after that, I unlocked commercial license to make more money and I'm guessing more complex missions.
It's interesting but not too deep which is fine by me.

The alpha did have a few bugs for me. a couple of CTD, sometimes the instruments would freeze, etc. All in all, I can't wait for the release, hope they iron things out.

Should be fine, the game on highest settings can be very demanding especially with add-ons, but even on medium-high the game looks pretty good (I think). If you have gamepass you can try 2020, 2024 should be pretty similar. Im sure a 3070 is more than fine.

 
The servers are overloaded, and they are not working properly, so don't bother yet.

I managed to get into the game, but the textures are messed up, and I got a bandwidth connection error message - it is too low.

Only wanted a quick look to see if GFX were better than 2020.
I want to see this game break my PC in Ultra settings like FS 2020 did - Probably 1st time since Crysis that I saw a high end PC run at 15-20FPS

Damn. Stuck at work hopefully the game downloaded on standby but doubt the packages are downloading unless i launch the game. Hope by the time i get home servers will be better. Can you access all the airplanes? I watched a stream and some were not there. Can you buy individual airplanes from the deluxe edition?
