• Hotmail/Outlook (any Microsoft email services) folks. Microsoft is currently blocking our emails. We have raised a support ticket with them and will update when we can.

In the meantime it's possible that adding robot@evoweb.uk to your address book/contacts will help and if you're able to switch to a different email provider, that would work fine.

We have also increased the number of bounce emails we can handle before accounts are marked as requiring verification again to hopefully mitigate the issue a bit as well.

EA SPORTS FC 26

One thing I would love to see is more randomness/physicality in the box from crosses. It feels like there is a pre-determined outcome whenever the ball goes into the box.
That's my biggest issue - everything is pre-determined and the game does nothing to hide it.

It's interesting using "precision pass" (R1+:triangle: / RB+Y, though I wish I could use it by just pressing the pass button)... Really recommend people fiddle with that. For two reasons.

1) Depending on your game settings (you can select "normal" or "high" accuracy for precision passing, which I would hope means "attributes come into it" vs "fully manual", but I have no idea), you can put the ball into free space, which the default controls simply don't allow (even on full manual).

But you can see that within a millisecond of the input being accepted, players move to where the ball will be INSTANTLY.

It makes me realise why FC feels completely inorganic to me, and more like skating laserbot-ball - nothing feels human about it, with every pass/cross being 100% perfect (to your man, or to the opponent).

2) You end up with almost 100% pass accuracy, because suddenly your passes aren't going straight to the opposition when the game decides your input / pass choice wasn't good enough.

Doesn't that show how simple things are right now? If you switch to fully manual passes and suddenly the AI never gets the ball (because you're not passing directly to it), it's not really AI is it?

I’ve seen deflected balls that not go to the AI directly. I’ve seen slower pace buildup from the AI in authentic mode. I’ve seen some nice headers against the AI.

What I’m basically missing is all the weight and inertia, freedom and physicality, unpredictability and randomness, some basic fundamentals of the game called football and the joy of just playing it all together, like @Anth James mod brings to the table and what I’ve been enjoying it the last 12 month.

I've been „messed up“ by what I've been through the last 12 months. At the same time I’ve come to love what I've experienced the last twelve months. And I'm also willing to invest another twelve months to get at least a little bit of football simulation in my living room with the help of James.

Playing Bayern, they are knocking it around, keeping possession and going backwards which is good to see.

Neuer just hit the back of his own defender with a kick which is a nice bit of randomness.

Laimer just missed kicked it out of play with his weaker foot when under pressure.

Here's my direct feedback to EA regarding FC26:

Summary (provided by Gemini):

This video from Matt10L provides direct feedback to EA regarding #FC26, focusing on two main issues with gameplay:

  • Fullback Positioning: The video highlights that fullbacks drop back too early and are not wide or high enough to support the attack or be available for transition. This rigid positioning creates a numerical disadvantage and doesn't reflect modern football tactics where center-backs often cross the halfway line. The suggestion is to reduce tactical adherence for fullbacks and free up their positioning.
  • Misunderstanding of Attacking Thirds: The video argues that the game treats the entire pitch, up to the halfway line, as an "attacking third," leading to unrealistic defensive animations. A key example is center-backs turning their backs to the ball carrier and running into their own box when they should be engaging the attacker further up the field. This creates excessive space for shots on goal.
The video suggests that the solution is to simplify the game's base by going back to basic football principles, where players naturally support each other, and then adding advanced tactical adjustments. It also encourages EA to leverage the community for feedback.

"The moment of possession is not even over with and he's already running backwards." Well, at least he waved bye.

Only a few games in and maybe my standards have slipped but I'm liking it so far.
They haven't, many of us have said the same things. I think the issue is for some people is that whilst many things have been improved, others haven't been touched at all.

I think we need perspective on how much they've done in a short amount of time. In Fifa 23, I started a Juventus career mode. In my first game I lost 7-6 at home to Bolonga. If I turned down the difficulty even one level the game became trivial and boring.

All I want right now is a game where I can play a manager mode, switch my brain off and not get pulled out of the immersion by bullshit. So far I think this game will achieve that.

Have you tried the saturator's sliders? I'm constantly encountering random situations, including bounces, bad controls, and loose balls. It's all pretty organic for a game that hasn't been patched yet.

Using @saturator sliders as well and FUMA settings. World Class is too difficult for me (so at least for now I'm playing on professional) but freedom with passes is nice. Plenty of random bounces, loose balls. Precision manual passing is very rewarding imo

The game isn't even out of the week's trial period yet, and the FUT players are begging for even more passive AI.

If EA don't make two entirely separate games, I really can't see Authentic Mode being able to become something special.

(There's even worse tweets about Competitive needing to be even faster.)

I don’t see how adjustments can be made to one mode without affecting the other. This game wasn’t built years ago with that in mind. And unfortunately, influencers like Jamboo FC, Ovvy Fc, Inception FC and Nealguides, among many others, will always have EA’s ear.

The files are separated this year, so they technically can do this. How they decide to implement changes is up to EA, but they are able to separate them.

And here we go!

You dont need to go into details to see the game is still broken to an unplayable extent.

Even without using the sprint button the AI gives you free escort to the box as soon you are on the sideline:

This is so-called "authentic" gameplay on legendary difficulty. It is absolutely pointless to play.

PES2021 on Legendary, Full manual, gamespeed -2 is still the unrivaled and most realistic soccer game on consoles to me.

When this happens to the majority of players online, the game must be considered broken. Surely.

I just don't understand how the whims of the registered "competitive" players, - who make up, what, 0.1% of the user base - can do this to the game, for the rest of the world to endure.

It is the wrong way to run a project, IMO, to allow the "elite" players to create a non-football 1v1 game that is then sold as a "football" game.

Come on - this isn't fun.

FUT is a mode for people with that mentality. I'm a career mode player, but I usually log into FUT and see what's going on. *

I played a match and it ended 5-5 after being 5-0 for 60 minutes. While I was playing, I was obviously thinking, what a disgusting circus. Well, it's over. I got a request from my opponent to send me a message, and it said something like, "One more minute and I'll definitely beat you."

Anyway, they have that mentality; it's almost like they forget it's a football game. To them, it's like Street Fighter, but 11 vs. 11 and a ball, hahaha.

(*) In EAFC25, I think I logged into FUT four or five times. Before FC26 came out, I decided to log in and play with my humble, common gold team from the beginning, and I still competed and beat meta end-game teams full of colorful cards. It was clear that the game was pushing the field in my favor.

I just don't believe the majority actively want those scorelines though, or a game that isn't actually representative of football. But the loudest voices dictate the game - and EA listen, that's what astounds me.

I'm not saying they have to "protect the integrity of our beloved sport" or something, I'm just saying that I truly believe the majority who buy FC want a football game and are being forced into playing something categorically the opposite, every year. Even FUT players.

The game is so anti-organic. It isn't reacting to where the ball is, or where it's going.

It's making decisions on the end point that it calculated immediately when you pressed your button, and faking all the movement / animations after.

Any human knows that pass is meant for them.

The foundations of the game have been built for FUT for at least 6 or 7 years. They only started with realistic sliders last year, and now with a separate authentic mode. It's all clearly a patch.

Personally, I appreciate that they at least listened and that from last year to this there was an evolution, first with sliders, then this year with sliders added to some new authenticity features.

I hope it continues to evolve and that in future versions, especially when there's an engine change, the foundations will be more hybrid or separated into two different concepts.

I played about 10 games last night, I can see the potential in authentic mode. My initial impressions:

PROS

Passing distance & correction is better, through passes go into more space instead of always being punted into defenders feet to force contrived interceptions.

Dribbling is visually more comprehensive, due to improved animations & footplanting, previously the animations wouldn't line up with where you're moving which causes the cringe spider legs and clipping issues before.

Goalkeepers make appropriate dives and saves & dive out the way of blatantly preventable goals less.

CONS

Game speed is too fast on authentic & it's still easy to get from one end of the pitch to the other in a couple of passes with little resistance.

The usual 1v1 & grid like positioning issues that prevent any team pressing or overlaps

Ball physics are still contrived & tethered to players bodies & feet, no ball freedom, or touch errors.

Heading feels 50/50, it's either a header on target or safely cleared by a defender with no chance of ensuing pressure.

Goalkeepers still tethered to goal line but I doubt much can be done to salvage this.

Shooting feels a bit weak, I had a variety of long range shots comfortably caught by the keeper instead of partied away or posed little threat.

AI seems a bit passive this year, I've been playing on Legendary which I never usually do, & while their decision making is faster, they still can't score against me let alone make me feel like I'm in that much danger of conceding.

The CPU stealing the ball back, it feels like there's no actual action causing the ball winning, they simply run into you & absorb the ball & run off without missing a beat while your player bounces off of them & skates out of the way.

Personally, I always think there's one thing that's undeniable.

There are 200 extractions games, and according to popular opinion, only three are worthwhile. Well, unfortunately, there's only one (or two) football games for everyone. When I say everyone, I mean everyone: kids, tweens, teens, older adults, people with limited time, casual gamers, etc.

It's difficult to create something homogeneous, productive, and SO inclusive of tastes, age ranges, and types of players.

I agree, everything feels so contrived, automated and algorithm based. There's no scrappinesss or attrional behaviour, like every pass, every tackle & shot has this clean 50/50 feeling of convenience so the game can flow into its end to end counter attacking philosophy.

The ball never had its own identity or freedom, it's never seen to deflect wildly off of anyone or anything, never bobbles loose and it feels wherever it ends up, players glide, skate and snap into it's destination to receive it & gallop away.

It's true that both FIFA and FC have sucked after FIFA19, but I'm tired of people using PES 2021 to bash FIFA. How about this?
btw. I've added timestamps to the highlights for quick access.

Your video seems to be blocked, at least to me. Is there a chance to put it on another location?

Whatever it shows, it won't change much on the replicable FIFA exploit.

EDIT: Works now for some reason. Yes, the PS4 era games (and before) were a lot more consistant and stable regarding defence AI.

I think coming weeks will show us what we can expect from Ea this year, number of fixes for offline modes will indicator if they rly care about offline community.

Played about 6 hours of the trial on authentic & it really hasn't grabbed my attention. The slower pace is nice but it all just feels a bit ponderous, canned and floaty.

I'm not saying I want it faster but there's a lack of zip & unpredictability to the gameplay in certain situations. When without the ball /defending I find it difficult to see if my players are actually even sprinting. There's a weird disconnect where they don't visually appear to be running at full pelt when transitioning from a jog, it feels really odd.

I much prefer it to competitive though & the less said about that mode the better as it bears no resemblance to football.

I hope they focus on positioning rather than just buffing jogging/tackling and calling it a day. I do like how spamming tackles now doesn't result in taking the ball easily from the CPU. Please just fix the positioning defensively.
